The ceremonial county of South Yorkshire is divided into 14 United Kingdom constituencies, parliamentary constituencies – 5 Borough constituency, borough constituencies and 9 County constituency, county constituencies, one of which is partly in the North Lincolnshire, District of North Lincolnshire. Sheffield Hallam (UK Parliament constituency), Sheffield Hallam was the only non-Labour South Yorkshire seat for many years, and was held by Nick Clegg for 12 years, until Labour gained the seat in 2017 United Kingdom general election, 2017. Barnsley North (UK Parliament Constituency)
Barnsley North is a constituency of the House of Commons in the UK Parliament. Created as a result of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, it was first contested at the 2024 general election. Nick Fletcher (politician)
Nicholas Anthony Fletcher (born 15 July 1972) is a British Conservative Party politician who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Don Valley from the 2019 general election until 2024. He was the only Conservative to ever be elected for the seat. Early life and career Fletcher grew up in Armthorpe, Doncaster, and attended Armthorpe Comprehensive before gaining a HNC in electronic engineering in 1992. In 1994, after being made redundant, he took a business course and established Analogue Electrics in Doncaster. Fletcher also owns a property portfolio consisting of ten residential properties. Before being elected to Parliament, Fletcher served as the director of Doncaster Chamber of Commerce (Doncaster Chamber) from 19 December 2018 to 13 December 2019. Lee Pitcher
Lee Michael Pitcher (born 18 July 1977) is a British Labour Party politician who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Doncaster East and the Isle of Axholme since 2024. Early life and education Lee Michael Pitcher was born on 18 July 1977. Pitcher was homeless for a period as a child, and was also a victim of bullying at school which he has said was due to the length of his trousers. He later earned a Master's degree. Career Pitcher previously worked three jobs simultaneously. He is also the Chair of Governors for Travis St Lawrence Church of England School in Hatfield, and was also a voluntary Chairman of an Arts and Culture school. Doncaster Central Constituency 2023
Doncaster ( ) is a city in South Yorkshire, England. Named after the River Don, it is the administrative centre of the City of Doncaster metropolitan borough, and is the second largest settlement in South Yorkshire after Sheffield. Noted for its racing and railway history, it is situated in the Don Valley on the western edge of the Humberhead Levels and east of the Pennines. It had a population of 87,455 at the 2021 census, whilst its built-up area had a population of 160,220, and the wider metropolitan borough had a population of 308,100.
