New Renaissance
New Renaissance Records is an American record label founded in 1984 by Ann Boleyn, who also is the lead singer of the group Hellion and is credited with coining the term speed metal. History New Renaissance Records was created by Ann Boleyn after her band Hellion had a No. 6 record on the British Music Charts (as reported in ''Sounds'' and ''Kerrang!''), but was unable to find an American deal. According to a March 1985 interview in ''Kerrang!'', Boleyn sold her car and musical instruments to fund the initial pressings of compilation albums, which featured the earliest commercial recordings of Wehrmacht, Morbid Angel, Artillery, Mayhem, Prong, Sepultura, At War, Savage Grace, and Flotsam and Jetsam. Early history By 1985, the demand for heavy metal products resulted in a packaging and distribution offer from Greenworld Distribution to both New Renaissance Records and Roadrunner Records. Therefore, some of the earliest pressings on New Renaissance bear the Greenworld label a ...

Post Mortem (Boston Band)
Post Mortem was an American thrash metal band, formed in 1982 in suburban Boston, Massachusetts. The band also helped pioneer the underground subgenre of death metal. History The band formed when its members were still in high school. They rehearsed every day, often rushing home to write music after classes. John McCarthy penned the personal songs while drummer Rick McIver wrote the gore lyrics. John Alexander helped write most of the songs. "Our whole concept was that we honestly didn't give a fuck. That's why we're lumped in with punk rock as well as metal," McCarthy said, adding, "It's much better to piss off people who think they're pissed off than to piss off your grandma or your mother or your father." Post Mortem's debut album, '' Coroner's Office'', was released in 1986. ''Coroner's Office'' continues to find new listeners and is now as remembered for its unusual styling and flirtation with jazz and punk. The album proved very influential, as it brought musical expe ...

IronChrist
Ironchrist is an American crossover/thrash metal band founded in 1986 from the demise of the punk rock band Spastic Rats. Along with label mates Indestroy, Ironchrist was one of the biggest metal bands of the late 80s to early 90s in the mid-Atlantic region and considered a pioneer of the punk/metal crossover movement. After touring and recording for several years, Ironchrist disbanded in 1993 and members moved on to pursue other musical and artistic interests. In 2012, Divebomb/Tribunal Records Records re-released Ironchrist's entire discography in a deluxe edition, available as both CD and MP3 download. Biography Ironchrist's foundation was forged in the early 80s punk scene in Washington DC. Known as the Spastic Rats, members Tristan Lentz and Ned Westrick, along with drummer Kenny Hill opened for punk icons such as Black Flag and Scream before deciding to part ways with Hill and disband. Rock City Angels
Rock City Angels was an American rock band from Florida. They found only limited success, and are perhaps best known for having Johnny Depp as a guitarist before he launched his acting career. History The band was founded in 1981 as The Abusers by singer Bobby Bondage and original bassist Andy Panik after meeting at a screening of the documentary ''The Decline of Western Civilization''. Later evolving into the Rock City Angels, the band assumed a more glam rock fashion style: members grew out their hair and began wearing eyeliner, lipstick, and nail polish. Bobby Bondage adopted the alias Bobby St. Valentine. Their sound reflected this shift. Sonically, the band became an aggressive mix of hardcore punk and glam rock marked by themes of rebellion, failed relationships, and the independent music scene. Songs such as "Cinderella in Black," "Hush Child," "Dark Angels," and "Teenage Lipstick Boys" incorporate strong melodies and power chords. The band's high turnover rate retar ...
