The mayor of Vaduz is the chief executive of the Vaduz municipal government. The role has existed since the introduction of Liechtenstein municipal law of 1864. The incumbent mayor is Florian Meier, elected in the 2024 Vaduz mayoral by-election. David Strub
David Strub (16 September 1897 – 15 November 1985) was a businessman and political figure from Liechtenstein who served as the List of presidents of the Landtag of Liechtenstein, President of the Landtag of Liechtenstein on three non-consecutive occasions, ranging from 1945 to 1957. He was also mayor of Vaduz from 1942 to 1966. Early life Strub was born on 16 September 1897 in Vaduz as the son of Josef Ritter and Karolina Thönyone as one of five children. 2023 Vaduz Elections
Elections were held in Vaduz on 5 March 2023 to elect the mayor of Vaduz and the Vaduz municipal council. Incumbent mayor Manfred Bischof of the Progressive Citizens' Party lost re-election to challenger Petra Miescher of the Patriotic Union, whereas the FBP won six seats in the municipal council, with the VU winning four. Manfred Bischof (born 8 May 1973) is a Liechtenstein engineer and politician who served as the mayor of Vaduz from 2019 to 2023. Life Bischof was born in Grabs, Switzerland. He attended school in Schaan from 1980 to 1985, and then secondary school in Vaduz. From 1993, he studied electronics and control technology at Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences, where he graduated with an engineer diploma in 1996. Ludwig Ospelt (31 January 1882 – 27 October 1949) was a politician from Liechtenstein who served in the Landtag of Liechtenstein from 1932 to 1939. ''Liechtensteiner Vaterland'' (; lit. "Liechtenstein Fatherland") is the largest daily newspaper in Liechtenstein. Published by Vaduzer Medienhaus AG, it is the official newspaper of the Patriotic Union party. History In January 1936, Christian-Social People's Party and Liechtenstein Homeland Service merged to form the Patriotic Union. As a result, the parties respective newspapers, the '' Liechtensteiner Nachrichten'' and ''Stimme für heimische Wirtschaft, Kultur und Volkstum'' merged to form the ''Liechtensteiner Vaterland'' with Carl Freiherr von Vogelsang as the first editor in chief.
