List Of Bus Routes In Suffolk County, New York
Suffolk County Transit operates a number of bus routes in Suffolk County, New York, United States; a few in the town of Huntington are operated by Huntington Area Rapid Transit. The Villages of Patchogue and Port Jefferson, also have had their own local jitney bus routes, although budget cuts have forced Port Jefferson to take its buses out of service. Some of them are descendants of streetcar lines (see List of streetcar lines on Long Island). Sunday service is operated on S1, S33, S40, S41, S45, S54, S58, S61, S66, S92, 3D and 10C routes. There is no service on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4); Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Days. Exceptions: S92 and 10C WILL run on Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4) and Labor Day. Some routes are operated with Saturday schedules on Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day and Veterans Day. Copiague is a station on the Babylon Branch of the Long Island Rail Road, located in Copiague, New York. The station is located on Marconi Boulevard and Great Neck Road ( Suffolk County Road 47), one block north of Oak Street ( Suffolk County Road 12). History Original station The South Side Railroad of Long Island and Central Railroad of Long Island once had another station in Copiague to the east called Belmont Junction, which was in service between 1873 and 1885. It is not known if the Long Island Rail Road built Copiague Station as a replacement for Belmont Junction, but it had served as one. Current station Copiague Station was originally built in 1902, and was rebuilt with temporary high-level platforms for the M1s on October 25, 1968. It is officially located at Wellwood Avenue ( Suffolk CR 3) and East Hoffman Avenue ( Suffolk CR 12) in Lindenhurst, New York. History Lindenhurst station is typical of the elevated Babylon Branch stations that were rebuilt during the mid-to-late 20th Century. New York State Route 27A (NY 27A) is a state highway extending from Massapequa in Nassau County to Oakdale in Suffolk County on Long Island, New York, in the United States. Its two most prominent components are Merrick Road and Montauk Highway. Route description NY 27A begins at a large junction between NY 27 (the Sunrise Highway) in front of the former Sunrise Mall site in the town of Oyster Bay, just east of Massapequa. NY 27A proceeds east along Old Sunrise Highway for one block, turning south on Carman Mill Road (former NY 276), which consists of several blocks of residential homes and passing a local school. Babylon is a station on the Long Island Rail Road in the village of Babylon, New York at Railroad Avenue west of Deer Park Avenue ( Suffolk CR 34). It is on the Montauk Branch, and is the eastern terminus of the Babylon Branch service. To the west is the junction (Belmont Junction) with the Central Branch, which heads northwest to join the Main Line at Bethpage Interlocking southeast of the Bethpage station. Babylon station is elevated with two island platforms and is wheelchair accessible through elevator access. The electrified portion of the Montauk Branch ends east of the station. Sunrise Mall is a shopping mall located in East Massapequa, New York. The mall opened on August 30, 1973 as the first 2-level shopping mall on Long Island. Massapequa Park is a village and hamlet located within the town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States.
