Amédée Guillemin
Amédée Victor Guillemin (born 5 July 1826 in Pierre-de-Bresse, died 2 January 1893 in Pierre-de-Bresse, France) was a French science writer and a journalist. Guillemin started his studies at Beaune college before taking his final degree in Paris. From 1850 to 1860 he taught mathematics in a private school while writing articles for the Liberal press criticizing the Second French Empire. In 1860, he moved to Chambéry where he became a junior deputy editor of the weekly political magazine ''La Savoie''. After the annexation of Savoy by the French empire, he returned to Paris where he became the science editor of ''l’Avenir national'' (The Nation's Future). Guillemin presently started writing books of physics and astronomy which became very popular. He wrote "The Sky" which was translated into many languages. Amédée Henri Guillemin (1860–1941) was a French ''Général de Division'' who served in World War I. During the war, he commanded the 121st Infantry Division, the 131st Infantry Division, the 53rd Infantry Division and the 19th Infantry Division. Biography Amédée Henri was born on 30 April 1860 at Toulon, Var as the son of Amédée Guillemin who was a science writer. A student of the École polytechnique, he then joined the School of Artillery and Engineering. After his graduation on 1 October 1884 he was appointed second lieutenant in the 5th Artillery Regiment. By 12 July 1890 Guillemin was within the 17th Artillery Regiment. In 1903, he was promoted to lieutenant and became a member of the General Staff of the French Army. Ernst Adolph Guillemin (May 8, 1898 – April 1, 1970) was an American electrical engineer and computer scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who spent his career extending the art and science of linear network analysis and synthesis. Francisco Romano Guillemin
Francisco Romano Guillemín (1883–1950) was a Mexican artist born in Tlapa, Tlapa, Guerrero. He is considered to be one of the few Mexican Impressionism, Impressionists. He started his art studies in Puebla and then continued at the Academia de San Carlos under the direction of Antonio Fabres, German Gedovius and Leandro Izaguirre. He was a fellow student of the famous muralist Diego Rivera. His great influence was Impressionism which he discovered during a trip to Europe. Georges-Pierre Seurat, Seurat and his pointillism style played a major role in his formation as an artist. Upon his return to Mexico he became a professor at the Escuela de Bellas Artes. Jean Baptiste Antoine Guillemin
Jean Baptiste Antoine Guillemin (20 January 1796 in Pouilly-sur-Saône – 15 January 1842 in Montpellier) was a French botanist. He studied at the municipal college in Seurre, where he was considered one of the most distinguished pupils. Upon leaving school he was placed with a lawyer. He worked there for eighteen months, but his interest in chemistry and desire to obtain a commission as a military pharmacist, at a time when it was difficult to avoid conscription, caused him to abandon the study of law. In 1812, he was apprenticed to a pharmacist in Dijon. After two years in that city, he went to Geneva, where he studied with Jean Pierre Étienne Vaucher (1763–1841) and Augustin Pyramus de Candolle (1778–1841). Jeanne Harley Guillemin (March 6, 1943 - November 15, 2019) was an American medical anthropologist and author, who for 25 years taught at Boston College as a professor of Sociology and for over ten years was a senior fellow in the Security Studies Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He works at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the field of symplectic geometry, and he has also made contributions to the fields of microlocal analysis, spectral theory, and mathematical physics.
