Calcutta High Court
The Calcutta High Court is the oldest High Court in India. It is located at Esplanade Row West, Calcutta (Kolkata), West Bengal. It has jurisdiction over the state of West Bengal and the Union Territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Sovandeb Chattopadhyay
Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay is an Indian politician representing Trinamool Congress and is the first elected MLA of the party (elected in 1998). He was the founder president of INTTUC, the labour wing of his party Trinamool Congress. Dr. Asish Banerjee is an Indian politician representing Trinamool Congress, who was the minister in charge of the Department of Agriculture in the Government of West Bengal from 2017 to 2021. 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election
Legislative Assembly elections were held in 2016 for 294 seats of the ''Vidhan Sabha'' in the Indian state of West Bengal. The All India Trinamool Congress under Mamata Banerjee won 211 seats, and thus was re-elected with an enhanced majority. Like in the 2011 election, the poll was held in six phases, with the first phase divided into two days.
