This is a list of worldwide fireworks competitions. Internationaler Feuerwerkswettbewerb Herrenhausen (International Fireworks Competition Hanover-Herrenhausen) The competition takes place every year in the Baroque Royal Gardens of Hanover-Herrenhausen, Germany. Consequently, each team has to show in its twenty-five minutes program a baroque part due to the gardens. Montreal Fireworks festival Known officially as ''L’International des Feux Loto-Québec'', the Montreal Fireworks Festival is the most prestigious and largest fireworks competition in the world. Fireworks
Fireworks are a class of low explosive pyrotechnic devices used for aesthetic and entertainment purposes. They are most commonly used in fireworks displays (also called a fireworks show or pyrotechnics), combining a large number of devices in an outdoor setting. Such displays are the focal point of many cultural and religious celebrations. Fireworks take many forms to produce four primary effects: noise, light, smoke, and floating materials ( confetti most notably). They may be designed to burn with colored flames and sparks including red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and silver. They are generally classified by where they perform, either 'ground' or 'aerial'. Aerial fireworks may have their own propulsion ( skyrocket) or be shot into the air by a mortar (aerial shell). Philippine International Pyromusical Competition
The Philippine International Pyromusical Competition initially known as the World Pyro Olympics, is an annual competition among fireworks manufacturers from different countries held in the Philippines which runs for five days for World Pyro Olympics and 6 weeks for The Philippine International Pyromusical Competition. Two countries fire each day; the last participant fires on the final evening of the event. The host of the event does not participate in the competition but performs a fireworks display on the last night. Awards, such as the People's Choice, are given out after the exhibition. The crowning of the competition's winners ends the event. Pyrotechnics Guild International
The Pyrotechnics Guild International or PGI founded in 1969 is an independent worldwide nonprofit organization of amateur and professional fireworks enthusiasts. Its membership is the largest pyrotechnic community in the world. The Guild has a yearly convention. People from all over the world come to this event that lasts for about a week. Educational and scientific purposes The PGI strives to promote the safe and responsible display and use of pyrotechnics and fireworks. Fireworks display operator training is offered, as well as classes on specific safety and legality issues. The PGI was founded by Max P. Vanderhorck a former meteorologist from San Diego California fueled by his love for fireworks and the preservation of what seemed (at the time) like a dying American Tradition. Castillos De Torre (fireworks)
Castillos is a small city in the Rocha Department of southeastern Uruguay. Geography The city is located on the junction of Route 9 with Route 16, about northeast of the city of Rocha. Other settlements in the area include Barrio Torres, about one kilometre southeast of Castillo, La Esmeralda, several kilometres to the northeast and Aguas Dulces several kilometres to the southeast along the Route 16.
