Joel Thomas Zimmerman (born January 5, 1981), known professionally as Deadmau5 (stylized as deadmau5; pronounced "dead-mouse"), is a Canadian electronic music producer and DJ. He mainly produces progressive house music, though he also produces and DJs other genres of electronic music, including techno under the alias Testpilot. Zimmerman has received six Grammy Award nominations for his work. He has worked with other DJs and producers, such as Kaskade, Wolfgang Gartner, Rob Swire, and Chris Lake. He has also collaborated with Steve Duda under the group name BSOD (Better Sounding On Drugs), and was part of the group named WTF? with Duda, Tommy Lee and DJ Aero. In 2007, he founded his own record label, Mau5trap. Deadmau5 is currently one of the highest paid electronic music producers in the world, and is a masked music artist similar to Marshmello and Daft Punk. Mau5trap (stylized as mau5trap; pronounced "mousetrap") is an independent Canadian record label founded in 2007 by electronic music producer Deadmau5. The label was formerly a vanity label, hosting releases through labels such as Ultra Music, Virgin Records, and Astralwerks. ''Deadmau5 Circa 1998–2002'' is a self-released compilation album by Canadian electronic music producer Deadmau5, released under the name Halcyon441 on his SectionZ page. The compilation features tracks (or variants of tracks) that were released on his 2005 debut album ''Get Scraped''. Zimmerman later re-released the tracks "Screen Door", "Long Walk Off A Short Pier", "Superlover", "Obsidian", and a reworked version of "My Opinion" on his 2017 compilation album '' Stuff I Used to Do''. The compilation's tracks have been uploaded to social networking site YouTube, but most of the songs have approximately five seconds cut from the beginning due to technical error. Songs ''Deadmau5 Circa 1998-2002'' features the song "Aural Psynapse", which would be remade and re-released in 2011, as well as the track "Feelin' Fresh", which the 2010 track "Cthulhu Sleeps" (from '' 4×4=12'') would be loosely based on. Robert Swire-Thompson (born 5 November 1982) is an Australian musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and DJ, best known as the founder and vocalist of the drum and bass and electronic rock band Pendulum, as well as DJ and co-founder of electro house duo Knife Party formed of Swire and Gareth McGrillen. Originally from Perth, Western Australia, he relocated to the United Kingdom in 2003 with fellow Pendulum co-founders Gareth McGrillen and Paul "El Hornet" Harding. Steve Duda is an American DJ, record producer, audio engineer, manager and software engineer from Menlo Park, California. He is best known for his mid-2000s collaborative electronic music projects with Canadian record producer and DJ deadmau5 under the names "BSOD" and "WTF?" Ryan Gary Raddon (born February 25, 1971), better known by his stage name Kaskade, is an American DJ, record producer and remixer. ''DJ Times'' voted Kaskade "America's Best DJ" in 2011 and 2013. ''DJ Mag'' named Kaskade fifty-first on its 2009 list of Top 100 DJs. Early life Born in Chicago, Kaskade grew up in nearby Northbrook and attended Glenbrook North High School.
