City Ticket Office
A city ticket office (CTO), booking office, or city ticket counter is a retail office for an airline, essentially a travel agency specializing in that particular carrier's flights. Until the 1990s, many major airlines had storefronts in luxury shopping districts. Today, few remain. When airlines used paper tickets, certain kinds of travel changes required in-person visits to these ticket offices to physically modify or exchange the ticket, but with the introduction of electronic tickets in 1994, their importance diminished and many were closed as passengers bought tickets over the internet instead. City ticket offices were formerly very common worldwide. An airline is a company that provides air transport services for traveling passengers and freight. Airlines use aircraft to supply these services and may form partnerships or alliances with other airlines for codeshare agreements, in which they both offer and operate the same flight. Generally, airline companies are recognized with an air operating certificate or license issued by a governmental aviation body. Airlines may be scheduled or charter operators. The first airline was the German airship company DELAG, founded on November 16, 1909. Shanti Dave is an Indian painter and sculptor, considered by many as one of the major Indian artists of the twentieth century. He is a former member of the Lalit Kala Akademi and the Sahitya Kala Parishad. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest Indian civilian honour of Padma Shri in 1985. 660 Fifth Avenue (formerly 666 Fifth Avenue and the Tishman Building) is a 41-story office building on the west side of Fifth Avenue between 52nd and 53rd Streets in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. The office tower was designed by Carson & Lundin and built for its developer Tishman Realty and Construction from 1955 to 1957. The building was designed with a prominent 666 address emblazoned on the top. It had a facade of embossed aluminum panels which were originally lit by the "Tower of Light" designed by Abe Feder.
