Cube (algebra)
In arithmetic and algebra, the cube of a number is its third exponentiation, power, that is, the result of multiplying three instances of together. The cube of a number is denoted , using a superscript 3, for example . The cube Mathematical operation, operation can also be defined for any other expression (mathematics), mathematical expression, for example . The cube is also the number multiplied by its square (algebra), square: :. The ''cube function'' is the function (mathematics), function (often denoted ) that maps a number to its cube. It is an odd function, as :. The volume of a Cube (geometry), geometric cube is the cube of its side length, giving rise to the name. The Inverse function, inverse operation that consists of finding a number whose cube is is called extracting the cube root of . It determines the side of the cube of a given volume. It is also raised to the one-third power. The graph of a function, graph of the cube function is known as the cubic para ... [...More Info...] [...Related Items...] OR: [Wikipedia] [Google] [Baidu] |

CUBIC TCP
CUBIC is a network congestion avoidance algorithm for TCP which can achieve high bandwidth connections over networks more quickly and reliably in the face of high latency than earlier algorithms. It helps optimize long fat networks. In 2006, the first CUBIC implementation was released in Linux kernel 2.6.13. Since kernel version 2.6.19, CUBIC replaces BIC-TCP as the default TCP congestion control algorithm in the Linux kernel. MacOS adopted TCP CUBIC with the OS X Yosemite release in 2014, while the previous release OS X Mavericks still used TCP New Reno. Microsoft adopted it by default in Windows 10.1709 Fall Creators Update (2017), and Windows Server 2016 1709 update. Characteristics CUBIC is a less aggressive and more systematic derivative of BIC TCP, in which the window size is a cubic function of time since the last congestion event, with the inflection point set to the window size prior to the event. Because it is a cubic function, there are two components t ... [...More Info...] [...Related Items...] OR: [Wikipedia] [Google] [Baidu] |

Quartic Function
In algebra, a quartic function is a function (mathematics), function of the form :f(x)=ax^4+bx^3+cx^2+dx+e, where ''a'' is nonzero, which is defined by a polynomial of Degree of a polynomial, degree four, called a quartic polynomial. A ''quartic equation'', or equation of the fourth degree, is an equation that equates a quartic polynomial to zero, of the form :ax^4+bx^3+cx^2+dx+e=0 , where . The derivative of a quartic function is a cubic function. Sometimes the term biquadratic is used instead of ''quartic'', but, usually, biquadratic function refers to a quadratic function of a square (or, equivalently, to the function defined by a quartic polynomial without terms of odd degree), having the form :f(x)=ax^4+cx^2+e. Since a quartic function is defined by a polynomial of even degree, it has the same infinite limit when the argument goes to positive or negative infinity. If ''a'' is positive, then the function increases to positive infinity at both ends; and thus the function ... [...More Info...] [...Related Items...] OR: [Wikipedia] [Google] [Baidu] |

Quadratic Function
In mathematics, a quadratic function of a single variable (mathematics), variable is a function (mathematics), function of the form :f(x)=ax^2+bx+c,\quad a \ne 0, where is its variable, and , , and are coefficients. The mathematical expression, expression , especially when treated as an mathematical object, object in itself rather than as a function, is a quadratic polynomial, a polynomial of degree two. In elementary mathematics a polynomial and its associated polynomial function are rarely distinguished and the terms ''quadratic function'' and ''quadratic polynomial'' are nearly synonymous and often abbreviated as ''quadratic''. The graph of a function, graph of a function of a real variable, real single-variable quadratic function is a parabola. If a quadratic function is equation, equated with zero, then the result is a quadratic equation. The solutions of a quadratic equation are the zero of a function, zeros (or ''roots'') of the corresponding quadratic function, of which ... Cubicle
A cubicle is a partially enclosed office workspace that is separated from neighboring workspaces by partitions that are usually tall. Its purpose is to isolate office workers and managers from the sights and noises of an open workspace so that they may concentrate with fewer distractions. Cubicles are composed of modular elements such as walls, work surfaces, overhead bins, drawers, and shelving, which can be configured depending on the user's needs. Installation is generally performed by trained personnel, although some cubicles allow configuration changes to be performed by users without specific training. Cubicles in the 2010s and 2020s are usually equipped with a computer, monitor, keyboard and mouse on the work surface. Cubicles typically have a desk phone. Since many offices use overhead fluorescent lights to illuminate the office, cubicles may or may not have lamps or other additional lighting. Other furniture often found in cubicles includes office chairs and filing c ... [...More Info...] [...Related Items...] OR: [Wikipedia] [Google] [Baidu] |

Cubic Transportation Systems
Cubic Corporation is an American multinational defense and public transportation equipment manufacturer. It operates two business segments: Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) and Cubic Mission and Performance Solutions (CMPS). History Cubic Corporation was founded in 1949 by Walter J. Zable as an electronics company in San Diego, California, and began operations in 1951. Zable devised the company name as he wanted the name to reflect both engineering and precision. Its first product was a calorimetric wattmeter, a device used for measuring microwave output. It became a publicly-traded company in 1959. In 1969, the company acquired United States Elevator Corporation, a maker of freight and passenger elevators. In early September 1984, Cubic moved its corporate domicile into Delaware General Corporation Law. The move was completed on June 11, 1985. Cubic employs 6,200 people globally. Cubic IDE
Cubic IDE is a proprietary, modular integrated development environment ( IDE) for AmigaOS versions 3.5 and 3.9 and MorphOS. Its central editor is GoldED 8, which supports file type centric configuration. Requirements Cubic IDE requires a 68k CPU, 4 to 8 MB of RAM for runtime and around 64 MB of RAM when compiling larger projects, and 4 MB to 650 MB of free hard drive space. A minimum resolution of 800x600 pixels is also required. No official support is given for operating systems newer than AmigaOS 3.9 and MorphOS 1.4, as the developer does not have a system running versions newer than these to test it on. Features The IDE includes features such as syntax highlighting for several programming languages, folding, a symbol browser, a project explorer, an installation assistant (to create installations), support for creating Rexx macros and documentation, makefile generation, dialogs to set compiler options, automatic completion of OS symbols and clickable compiler output (jump ...
