''Chrononauts'' is a family of card games that simulates popular fictional ideas about how time travellers might alter history, drawing on sources like ''Back to the Future'' and the short stories collection ''Travels Through Time''. The game was designed by Andrew Looney and is published by Looney Labs. The original game and a variant each won the Origins Award for Best Traditional Card Game. History The game was designed by Andrew Looney of Looney Labs in 2000. In 2001, ''Chrononauts'' won the Origins Award for ''Best Traditional Card Game of 2000'' and Parents' Choice Silver Honors 2001 Games. The game's first expansion, ''Lost Identities'' was released in 2001. In 2004, Looney Labs released ''Early American Chrononauts'' (''EAC''), a prequel version of ''Chrononauts'', and introduced "Gadgets," a new card type. ''Chrononauts'' is a British comic book series created by Mark Millar and Sean Murphy, published by Image Comics, and set in the Millarworld. Described as "''Apollo 13'' meets '' The Time Machine''", the title was announced near the end of 2014, with the first volume running for four issues from March to June 2015. Two sequels followed: the four-issue '' Chrononauts: Futureshock'' (2019; illustrated by Eric Canete) and the five-issue '' Big Game'' (2023; illustrated by Pepe Larraz), with a further series to be published by Dark Horse Comics. A one-shot, ''Chrononauts: Prom Night'', written by Shaun Brill and illustrated by Conor Hughes, was also published in 2017. ''Seven Days'' (also written as ''7 Days'') is an American science fiction television series based on the premise of time travel. It was created by Christopher and Zachary Crowe, and aired on UPN from October 7, 1998 to May 29, 2001. Synopsis The plot follows a secret branch of the US National Security Agency, which has developed a time travelling device based upon alien technology found at Roswell. As the opening of the show recounts, the Chronosphere, or Backstep Sphere, is capable of sending “one human being back in time seven days” to avert disasters. The show's title refers to the chief limitation of the technology, namely that a traveler can only ''backstep'' seven days due to limitations imposed by the device's fuel source and its reactor. As the fuel source is limited, there is a strict mandate that the backstep is confined to events relating directly to national security. Time travel is the concept of movement between certain points in time, analogous to movement between different points in space by an object or a person, typically with the use of a hypothetical device known as a time machine. Time travel is a widely recognized concept in philosophy and fiction, particularly science fiction. The idea of a time machine was popularized by H. G. Wells' 1895 novel ''The Time Machine''. It is uncertain if time travel to the past is physically possible, and such travel, if at all feasible, may give rise to questions of causality. Forward time travel, outside the usual sense of the perception of time, is an extensively observed phenomenon and well-understood within the framework of special relativity and general relativity. SFZero or SF0 is a web-based community game invented in San Francisco. It is a type of alternate reality game. SFZero players earn points by completing a wide variety of different tasks, often with a focus on creativity, exploration, community, or performance. Although the game was originally intended for San Francisco residents, its player base has expanded to include many other locales both in and outside of America.
