Channel 83
Channel 83 was removed from television use in 1982. The highest frequency to have been used for NTSC-M terrestrial TV broadcasting, it was formerly used by a handful of television stations in North America which broadcast on 884-890 MHz. In the United States, channels 7083 served primarily as a "translator band" for low-power repeater transmitters filling gaps in coverage for existing stations. NTSC
NTSC (from National Television System Committee) is the first American standard for analog television, published and adopted in 1941. In 1961, it was assigned the designation System M. It is also known as EIA standard 170. In 1953, a second NTSC standard was adopted, which allowed for color television broadcast compatible with the existing stock of black-and-white receivers. It is one of three major color formats for analog television, the others being PAL and SECAM. ''NTSC color'' is usually associated with the System M; this combination is sometimes called NTSC II. The only other broadcast television system to use NTSC color was the System J. Brazil used System M with PAL color. Quincy is a city in Grant County, Washington, United States. It is situated east of the Columbia River on State Route 28 and north of Interstate 90. The population was 7,543 at the 2020 census. Quincy is one of the closest cities to The Gorge Amphitheatre. History Geologic history Quincy lies atop a part of the Columbia River Basalt Group which is overlain by Pleistocene outburst flood deposits. The Missoula Floods had one of their outlets at Trinidad, close to Quincy and another near Ancient Lakes, which includes the Ancient Lakes of the Columbia Valley AVA. Deora is an unincorporated community in Baca County, Colorado, United States. History Deora was once the site of a post office, rail siding, school, and store, but little remains today. Early 20th Century When a post office was established in 1920, the postmistress suggested naming the settlement ''de'' ''oro'', meaning "of gold" in Spanish. Examinations for rural carriers in Stonington and Deora took place in June 1921. The excavation work for what the ''Springfield Democrat-Herald'' called a large post office building began in March 1922. Construction began in August. A graded road between the county seats of Springfield and Las Animas, going through Deora, was completed in September 1923. This was later called a "fine road" in the ''Democrat-Herald''. J.S. Carrizozo is a town in Lincoln County, New Mexico, United States. It is the county seat, with a population of 996 at the 2010 census. Founded in 1899, the town provided the main railroad access for Lincoln County, and the town experienced significant population growth in the early decades of the 1900s. However, with declining relevance of the railroad, the population of the town has gradually declined. The town is located at the intersection of U.S. Routes 54 and 380.
