Central Pulse (medicine)
Central Pulse are a New Zealand netball team based in Wellington. Between 2008 and 2016, they played in the ANZ Championship. Since 2017 they have represented Netball Central in the ANZ Premiership. Netball Central is the governing body that represents the Hawke's Bay, Manawatū-Whanganui, Taranaki and Wellington Regions. Pulse were 2019, 2020 and 2022 ANZ Premiership winners. They also won the 2018 Netball New Zealand Super Club tournament. History Formation Central Pulse were formed in 2007. The new team was effectively a merger of two former National Bank Cup teams, Capital Shakers and Western Flyers. Pulse subsequently became founder members of the ANZ Championship. The former Australia head coach, Jill McIntosh was appointed director of coaching, Singapore head coach, Kate Carpenter, was appointed head coach and England international, Sonia Mkoloma, became the team's first player. 2018 Netball New Zealand Super Club
The 2018 Netball New Zealand Super Club was the second edition of Netball New Zealand's invitational tournament. With a team coached by Yvette McCausland-Durie, captained by Katrina Grant and featuring Karin Burger, Aliyah Dunn, Ameliaranne Ekenasio, Sulu Fitzpatrick and Claire Kersten, Central Pulse finished the tournament as winners after defeating Mainland Tactix 61–56 in the final. All the matches were hosted at the Trafalgar Centre in Nelson between 19 August and 24 August 2018. All the matches were broadcast live on Sky Sport (New Zealand). The tournament also featured two-points for long shots as previously used in Fast5 netball. Teams The tournament featured eight teams. Yvette McCausland-Durie
Yvette McCausland-Durie is a netball in New Zealand, New Zealand netball coach and former netball player. As a player, she played for Western Flyers during the National Bank Cup era and represented New Zealand national netball team, New Zealand at under-21 level. She was a member of the New Zealand team that won the World Youth Netball Championships, 1992 World Youth Netball Championships. As a head coach, McCausland-Durie guided Central Pulse to the 2019 ANZ Premiership season, 2019 and 2020 ANZ Premiership season, 2020 ANZ Premierships and the 2018 Netball New Zealand Super Club, 2018 Super Club title. She has also worked with the senior New Zealand team as an assistant coach and with the under-21 team as a head coach. Challenge Stadium
Perth High Performance Centre (Perth HPC) is a sports complex in Perth, Western Australia. The venue is located in the suburb of Mount Claremont, approximately west of Perth's central business district. Venue facilities include an Olympic-standard aquatic centre with five pools, a diving tower, gymnasium, two arenas, and several basketball courts, as well as a café, childcare centre, sports store, office accommodation and a museum. The main indoor arena has seating for 4,500 spectators. Regular exhibitions and expos are hosted at the venue, as well as national and international sporting events and concerts. West Coast Fever
West Coast Fever is a professional Australian netball team based in Perth, Western Australia. Since 2017 they have played in Suncorp Super Netball. Between 2008 and 2016, they competed in the ANZ Championship. Between 1997 and 2007, as Perth Orioles, they competed in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy league. During the ANZ Championship era, Fever were the only Australian team not to win a title, play in a grand final or feature in a finals series. However, during the Suncorp Super Netball era they emerged as challengers. They were grand finalists in both 2018 and 2020, and eventually claimed their first premiership in 2022. Melbourne Vixens is an netball in Australia, Australian professional netball team based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Victoria. Sonia Mkoloma
Sonia Mkoloma (born 17 January 1979) is an English former international netball player. Mkoloma made her international debut for the English national team in 1999, and during her career has competed at three Netball World Championships, three Commonwealth Games and two World Netball Series. In August 2009, Mkoloma played for a World 7 team, coached by Julie Fitzgerald, that defeated New Zealand 2–1 in the 2009 Taini Jamison Trophy Series. In the domestic Netball Superleague she played with the Surrey Storm (formerly Brunel Hurricanes) with best friend and fellow England defender Geva Mentor. Mkoloma also played in the ANZ Championship: she played for Central Pulse in the 2008 season, and for Canterbury Tactix in 2009. In 2010, she transferred to the New South Wales Swifts. The England national netball team, also known as the Vitality Roses, represent England Netball in international netball tournaments such as the Netball World Cup, the Commonwealth Games, the Netball Quad Series, the Taini Jamison Trophy, the Fast5 Netball World Series and the European Netball Championship. Singapore National Netball Team
The Singapore national netball team are the national netball team representing Singapore. The Singapore team have competed at the Netball World Cup eleven times (1967, 1975, 1983, 1991, 1995, 1999, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019 and 2023) and hosted the World Cup twice (1983, 2011). They have won four Asian Netball Championships (2005, 2012, 2014, 2024), three Nations Cup titles (2006, 2007 and 2023) and one Southeast Asian Games gold medal (2015). Jill McIntosh
Jill McIntosh is a former Australia netball international and national team head coach. As a player, McIntosh was a member of the Australia team that won the gold medal at the 1983 World Netball Championships. She later coached Australia at the 1995 and 1999 World Netball Championships and at the 1998 and 2002 Commonwealth Games, guiding the team to four gold medals. In 2009 she was inducted into the Australian Netball Hall of Fame. McIntosh subsequently worked as a coach with the International Netball Federation, Central Pulse and with the national teams of Singapore, Northern Ireland and Jamaica.
