Aircraft & Systems Testing Establishment
The Indian Air Force Test Pilot School is a unit of the Indian Air Force (IAF) that evaluates aircraft and systems for induction into user organisations. Most new aircraft types and major airborne systems must have ASTE's stamp of approval to be considered fit for service in India. While many countries have testing facilities of one kind or the other, training of flight test personnel is not often imparted in them. ASTE's Air Force Test Pilots School (AFTPS) is only the fifth such institution in the world. History Since India's independence, the IAF has been actively involved in defending territorial boundaries. In 1948, the IAF acquired its first jet fighter type, the de Havilland Vampire, and the Aircraft Testing Unit (ATU) was raised under the command of Wg Cdr H Moolgavkar to accept and test these aircraft. By the early 1950s, IAF felt the need to expand its aircraft holdings. The ageing fleet of Vampires, Toofanis and Mysteres were required to be upgraded and eventually ...

Atacama Submillimeter Telescope Experiment
The Atacama Submillimeter Telescope Experiment (ASTE) is a 10-meter-diameter antenna built by Mitsubishi Electric as a preprototype for Atacama Large Millimeter Array, ALMA. The ASTE was deployed to its site on Pampa La Bola, near Cerro Chajnantor and the Llano de Chajnantor Observatory in northern Chile. The antenna shows excellent performance including a surface accuracy of 19 μm (0.00075 in) r.m.s. The telescope is remotely controllable from multiple sites through satellite connections and the Internet. It is operated by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan and the University of Tokyo, Nagoya University, and Osaka Prefecture University, in cooperation with the Universidad de Chile. Initially operating at 240 GHz using a focal-plane bolometer array, the telescope was upgraded in 2018 with a heterodyne receiver system operating at 345 GHz and 460 GHz. Succinylglutamate Desuccinylase
In enzymology, a succinylglutamate desuccinylase () is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction :N-succinyl-L-glutamate + H2O \rightleftharpoons succinate + L-glutamate Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are N-succinyl-L-glutamate and H2O, whereas its two products are succinate and L-glutamate. This enzyme belongs to the family of hydrolases, those acting on carbon-nitrogen bonds other than peptide bonds, specifically in linear amides. The systematic name of this enzyme class is N-succinyl-L-glutamate amidohydrolase. Other names in common use include N2-succinylglutamate desuccinylase, SGDS, and AstE. This enzyme participates in arginine and proline metabolism Arginine and proline metabolism is one of the central pathways for the biosynthesis of the amino acids arginine and proline from glutamate. The pathways linking arginine, glutamate, and proline are bidirectional. Thus, the net utilization or product .... References * * * * * EC 3.5.1 Enzymes of ...
