Area Code 575
Area code 575 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the U.S. state of New Mexico. The area code was created in 2007 in an area code split of area code 505, whose service area was reduced to the Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Farmington, and Gallup regions to provide more telephone numbers to the most populated parts of the state. Area code 575 serves the rest of the state. History When the American Telephone and Telegraph Company established the first nationwide telephone numbering plan in 1947, the state of New Mexico was designated as a single numbering plan area and was assigned area code 505 in the group of 86 original North American area codes. On October 7, 2007, the numbering plan area was reduced in size to the high-population centers in the northwest of the state, and the rest of the state was renumbered with area code 575. The area code has been the last area code in the United States introduced by an area code split. All new area codes ad ...

Area Code
A telephone numbering plan is a type of numbering scheme used in telecommunication to assign telephone numbers to subscriber telephones or other telephony endpoints. Telephone numbers are the addresses of participants in a telephone network, reachable by a system of destination code routing. Telephone numbering plans are defined world-wide, as well as within each of the administrative regions of the public switched telephone network (PSTN), and in private telephone networks. In public numbering systems, geographic location typically plays a role in the sequence of numbers assigned to each telephone subscriber. Many numbering plan administrators subdivide their territory of service into geographic regions designated by a prefix, often called an area code or city code, which is a set of digits forming the most-significant part of the dialing sequence to reach a telephone subscriber. Within such regions designated by area codes, locally unique telephone number are assigned based on ...

Ten-digit Dialing
Ten-digit dialing is a telephone dialing procedure in the countries and territories of the North American Numbering Plan (NANP). It is the practice of including the area code of a telephone number when Dialling (telephony), dialing to initiate a telephone call. When necessary, the ten-digit number may be prefixed with the trunk code ''1'', which is referred to as ''1+10-digit dialing'' or ''national format''. History The implementation and expansion of the North American Numbering Plan between 1947 and 1992 preserved a long-standing practice in the United States and Canada that callers should only need to dial the local seven-digit telephone number when placing a call within the caller's exchange area or within the home numbering plan area (NPA). In seven-digit dialing, callers dial the three-digit central office code and the four-digit station number of the destination telephone if it resides in the same numbering plan area. Dialing of an area code before the telephone number, ref ...

Area Code 520
Area code 520 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the U.S. state of Arizona. The numbering plan area comprises Tucson and most of the southeastern part of the state. Area code 520 was created in a split of area code 602 on March 19, 1995. Previously, 602 had been the sole area code for the entire state of Arizona since the introduction of area codes in 1947. Arizona's rapid growth in demand for telecommunication services during the second half of the 20th century, and the proliferation of mobile and data communication services in the 1990s required additional numbering resources. The numbering plan area originally comprised all of the state outside the Phoenix metropolitan area, but areas outside of southeastern Arizona were split again in 2001 to form area code 928 in 2001. History Area code 602 was the only area code for Arizona from the establishment of a nationwide telephone numbering plan in 1947. By the late 1980s, the state needed a sec ...

List Of Country Calling Codes
Telephone country codes are telephone number prefixes for reaching subscribers in foreign countries or areas by international direct dialing (IDD). Country codes are defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in ITU-T standards E.123 and E.164 and constitute the international telephone numbering plan of the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and other networks. Overview This table lists in its first column the initial digits of the country code shared by each country in each row, which is arranged in columns for the last digit (x). When three-digit codes share a common leading pair, the shared prefix is marked by an arrow, () pointing down and left to the three-digit codes. Unassigned codes are denoted by a dash (). Countries are identified by ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country codes; codes for non-geographic services are denoted by two asterisks (). Area Code 915
Area code 915 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the area of El Paso in the U.S. state of Texas. History 915 is one of the original North American area codes established in October 1947, when it was assigned the northwestern part of the state, stretching from the far west El Paso to the Texas Panhandle in the north and to Fort Worth in the east. This once-vast numbering plan area (NPA) was reconfigured in 1954, in 1957, and in 2003 to accommodate the developing infrastructure for long-distance toll telecommunication, population growth, and finally proliferation of mobile devices, such as pagers and cell phones. In 1954, nearly the entire eastern portion ( Lubbock and the South Plains) was combined with Fort Worth and the western portion of area code 214 in a flash cut as area code 817. In 1957, most of the northwestern portion (the Texas Panhandle) was merged with the western portion of 817 to form area code 806. In 2003, the numbering ...
