Administrative Divisions Of Luhansk Oblast
Luhansk Oblast is subdivided into districts (''raions'') which are subdivided into territorial communities (''hromadas''). Current On 18 July 2020, the number of districts was reduced to eight. This includes territories not under control of Ukrainian government, where the old territorial division is in use. Starobilsk ( uk, Старобільськ, russian: Старобельск) is a city in Luhansk Oblast, Ukraine. It serves as the administrative center of Starobilsk Raion. The modern settlement was founded in 1686, and it was granted city status in 1938. Luhansk (, ; uk, Луганськ, ), also known as Lugansk (, ; russian: Луганск, ), is a city in what is internationally recognised as Ukraine, although it is administered by Russia as capital of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR).
