Yog's Law
James Douglas Ignatius Macdonald (born 1954) is an American author and critic who lives in New Hampshire. He frequently collaborated with his late wife Dr. Debra Doyle. He works in several genres, concentrating on fantasy, but also writing science fiction, and mystery and media tie-ins. Biography Macdonald was born in 1954, and raised in White Plains, New York. He attended the University of Rochester, and went on to serve in the US Navy for fifteen years. He has been writing professionally since the early 1990s and has published 35 novels. Educational work Macdonald is well known for his work in educating aspiring authors, particularly for his advice on avoiding literary scams. Early in his career he was asked by such an author how much he had paid to have his books published, and in response began a campaign of educating other writers about the problems of vanity publishers. Groogleman
''Groogleman'' is a young adult science fiction novel written by Debra Doyle and James D. Macdonald and published by Harcourt in 1996. Set in a post-apocalyptic future, it is the story of 13-year-old Dan Henchard, who shows signs of an immunity to the deadly plague which threatens his village. Feeling that he may be destined to be a healer, he travels with his friend Leezie to "The Dead Lands," a plague-ravaged area, where they must face not only the plague, but the fearsome grooglemen, strange creatures who steal the heads of the plague victims. ''Groogleman'' was expanded from the short story, "''Uncle Joshua and the Grooglemen''," written by the same authors, which was first published in the 1993 anthology '' Bruce Coville's Book of Monsters''. Mike Resnick
Michael Diamond Resnick (; March 5, 1942 – January 9, 2020) was an American science fiction writer and editor. He won five Hugo awards and a Nebula award, and was the guest of honor at Chicon 7. He was the executive editor of the defunct magazine '' Jim Baen's Universe,'' and the creator and editor of ''Galaxy's Edge'' magazine. Biography Resnick was born in Chicago on March 5, 1942. He was a 1959 graduate of Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Illinois. He sold his first piece of writing in 1957, while still in high school. He attended the University of Chicago from 1959 to 1961 and met his future wife, Carol L. Cain, there. The couple began dating in mid-December 1960 and were engaged by the end of the month. Alan Rodgers (August 11, 1959 – March 8, 2014) was a science fiction and horror writer, editor, and poet. In the mid-eighties he was the editor for ''Night Cry''. His short stories have been published in a number of venues, including ''Weird Tales'', '' Twilight Zone'' and a number of anthologies, such as '' Darker Masques'', '' Prom Night'', and '' Vengeance Fantastic''. His novelette ''"The Boy Who Came Back From the Dead"'' won the Bram Stoker Award for Best Long Fiction in 1987 and was nominated for the World Fantasy Award. Biography Alan Rodgers was born in 1959. From summer 1985 to fall 1987, Rodgers was the editor of the horror digest Night Cry. In 1987, his "The Boy Who Came Back From the Dead" tied for the Bram Stoker Award for Best Novelette.
