Irina Yanina
Irina Yuryevna Yanina (russian: Ири́на Ю́рьевна Я́нина; 27 November 1966 – 31 August 1999) was a Russian nurse, medical sergeant and Hero of the Russian Federation. Biography Irina Yanina was born in the town of Taldykorgan, Taldy-Kurgan, Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic. After graduating from a medical school, Irina Yanina worked as a nurse’s assistant and a nurse in a tuberculosis dispensary and in a maternity hospital. Military service In 1995 she enlisted in the Russian Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Russia). She served as a nurse in a medical company of the 22nd Operational Brigade in the town of Kalach-na-Donu. During the First Chechen War Irina made two tours of duty to the area of conflict. During the Second Chechen War her unit deployed to Dagestan in July 1999. Janusz Henryk Iwański, best known as Yanina, (April 22, 1956 in Częstochowa) is a Polish jazz and rock guitarist, composer, songwriter and vocalist. He has performed with the groups Tie Break, Soyka Yanina, and Maanam. Since 2007 he has been playing with the rock group, The Goodboys. Biography He began as a musician in 1970 but in 1976 at the Jazz Jamboree, he heard artists such as Gil Evans, Benny Goodman, Muddy Waters and many others, took up the study of jazz itself. He has cited Miles Davis as an influence. As he became interested in jazz he formed the Tie Break with bassist Krzysztof Majchrzak, soon joined by flute player Grzegorz Chmielecki. He has performed in countries such as Poland, Mexico, USA, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Germany, Russia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Austria, Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Georgia and others including in his native Częstochowa with over 3000 gigs in total. She is the 1996 Olympics All-around silver medalist, two time (1995,1997) World All-around bronze medalist, two-time European (1996, 1995) All-around silver medalist, the 1998 European All-around bronze medalist and 1996 Grand Prix Final All-around champion.
