YG Entertainment Inc. () is a South Korean multinational entertainment agency established in 1996 by Yang Hyun-suk. The company operates as a record label, talent agency, music production company, event management and concert production company, and music publishing house. In addition, the company operates a number of subsidiary ventures under a separate public traded company, YG Plus, which includes a clothing line, a golf management agency, and a cosmetics brand. Yang Hyun-suk
Yang Hyun-suk (born January 9, 1970) is a South Korean music executive, rapper, dancer, songwriter, and record producer. He rose to fame as a member of Seo Taiji and Boys during the 1990s. After the group disbanded, he founded and became the Executive producer & Chairman of YG Entertainment, one of the biggest record companies in South Korea. Career 1992-1996: Seo Taiji & Boys Seo Taiji & Boys was formed in 1991 with Seo Taiji, Lee Juno and Yang Hyun-seok. Yang said he first met Seo when the musician came to him to learn how to dance. "Blown away" by his music, Yang offered to join the group and they later recruited Lee who was one of the top dancers in Korea. The group was influential on the Korean music scene, famous for their single, "Nan Arayo" (, "I Know"). Young Guns are an English alternative rock band from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The members, working with each other in various musical interests throughout the 2000s, formally formed the band in 2008, and rose to prominence after their debut EP, '' Mirrors'', earned them spots opening live shows for Bon Jovi and Guns N' Roses. Their debut album, '' All Our Kings Are Dead'', on 12 July 2010. Their second album, '' Bones'', was released in February 2012. Keenon Dequan Ray Jackson (born March 9, 1990), better known by his stage name YG (short for Young Gangsta), is an American rapper from Compton, California. In 2010, he released his debut single, " Toot It and Boot It" (featuring Ty Dolla Sign), which peaked at number 67 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. The single's success resulted in his signing to Def Jam Recordings. In the following years, YG released mixtapes such as ''The Real 4Fingaz, Just Re'd Up,'' ''Just Re'd Up 2'', ''4 Hunnid Degreez,'' among others. In June 2013, YG signed an additional deal with Young Jeezy's imprint CTE World.
