''You Will Go To The Moon'' is the third album by the Canadian folk band Moxy Früvous, released in 1997. The title track was inspired by the children's book. "I've Gotta Get A Message To You" is a cover of the Bee Gees song. Critical reception ''Stereo Review'' wrote: "Right from the start, these Canadians show their debt to eclectic pop (read: XTC), and it all sounds a little too calculating and tied up in ribbons. But it's hard to resist the plentiful melodies, harmonies, exotics, and jokes." The ''Toronto Star'' praised the "clever wordsmithery, spot-the-pop-reference tomfoolery, stylistic swings and, of course, close vocal harmonies." Moxy Früvous
Moxy Früvous was a Canadian politically satirical folk-pop band from Thornhill, Ontario, Canada. The band was founded in 1989, and was active until 2001. Common themes in Früvous songs include Canada and the "human experience". History The band formed in 1989 when Jian Ghomeshi (then going by Jean Ghomeshi), Murray Foster and Mike Ford, former classmates at the local Thornlea Secondary School and playing in a pub band called The Chia Pets at the time, joined with David Matheson to busk in Toronto. They drew crowds, and, eventually, the attention of Toronto-based CBC Radio, which commissioned songs about political and local issues for the radio show ''Later the Same Day.'' It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. ''You Will Go To The Moon'' is a work of children's literature written by Mae and Ira Freeman and illustrated by Robert Patterson, published in 1959, ten years before the first moon landing. The first edition was reprinted in England in 1962 under the same title. A second edition was published in 1971, with new illustrations reflecting NASA's Project Apollo. This was reprinted in England in 1973 under the title ''Going to the Moon''. The book is a children's story in the Beginner Books series, written using a restricted vocabulary of simple words for a readership age of six. The illustrations show a lunar mission concept based on the Von Braun and Ley space exploration concepts of 1952 (see Man Will Conquer Space Soon!), featuring wingèd three-stage rockets ferrying the passengers to a rotating-wheel space station, serving as a transfer station to the spider-like lunar surface shuttle. "I've Gotta Get a Message to You" is a song by the Bee Gees. Released as a single on 1968, it was their second number-one single on the UK Singles Chart, and their first US Top 10 hit. Barry Gibb re-recorded the song with Keith Urban for his 2021 album ''Greenfields''.
