A champion (from the late Latin ''campio'') is the victor in a challenge, contest or competition. There can be a territorial pyramid of championships, e.g. local, regional / provincial, state, national, continental and world championships, and even further (artificial) divisions at one or more of these levels, as in association football. ''The Winners'' was a long running Australian television series that shows highlights of Australian rules football matches. Original show (1970s and 1980s) The original version was broadcast from 1977 until 1986 on the ABC on Sunday mornings. It was normally hosted by Drew Morphett with a panel consisting of former players and pundits. Two matches from the previous day's Victorian Football League (VFL) fixtures would be screened and the panel would speculate about the games along with the league ladder and the goal, mark and play of the day. The format of the show was comprehensive, yet devoted mainly to matters on the field. Today it appears simplistic when compared with modern football's more saturated and market driven media coverage. Big Boss Man (band)
Big Boss Man is an English funk and Latin band formed in 1998 in London, England. It consists of Nasser Bouzida a.k.a. "The Bongolian" on organs, percussion and vocals, Badger Burgess on bass guitar, Trevor Harding on electric guitar and Desmond Rogers on drums. Formation and early years Nasser Bouzida, was brought up in Harlow, England, but his formative years were spent in Newbury, Berkshire. He always had a strong love for Latin music. When he was a teenager, Nasser liked composing mini rock-operas in the style of Showaddywaddy. When he was in his early twenties he appeared on the low-budget cable TV show ''Jenny Powell's Hot'', due to him becoming a pioneer of the sports-casual movement. On the set of this show he first met the band Bloodvessel, one of whom was Trevor Harding. Winner (Renée Geyer Album)
''Winner'' is the fifth studio album by Australian soul and R&B singer, Renée Geyer. It was released in November 1978 and peaked at number 69 on the Kent Music Report. Geyer recorded it in Los Angeles with Frank Wilson producing and was joined by her backing band of Tim Partridge on bass guitar, Mark Punch on guitar and backing vocals, and Greg Tell on drums together with session musicians. Two singles were provided from the album, "Money (That's What I Want)" (April 1978) and "Baby Be Mine" (October). In her autobiography, released in 2000, Geyer wrote she was unhappy with the mixing of ''Winner'' and the lack of support from her American label, Polydor Records. She negotiated a release from her contract, brought the album tapes back to Australia where it was remixed and released. Geyer referred to the album as "a bit of a loser". Winner (; romanized: ''wineo''; stylized in all caps), is a South Korean boy band consisting of four members: Jinu, Hoony, Mino and Seungyoon. The band was formed in 2013 by YG Entertainment through Mnet's survival program ''WIN: Who Is Next'' leading to their official debut on August 17, 2014, with studio album '' 2014 S/S''. Originally a five-piece band, Taehyun, departed from the group in November 2016 for his mental health and well-being. The Winner Records was a United Kingdom-based record label from 1912 onwards. Its records were manufactured by the Edison Bell Record Works, London. This company, founded by James Hough, had originated in the early 1890s as an importer of Edison and Columbia phonograph cylinders; from 1898 Hough had also made cylinder records, initially using a separate company, Edisonia. When Edison set up his own European operation in 1904, the import franchise was withdrawn, but the name Edison Bell remained in use. From 1909 the official name of Edison-Bell was J. E. Hough Ltd.
