William Morrow (South Australian Politician)
William Morrow (15 September 1872 – 3 July 1934) was an Australian politician. He was a member of the South Australian Legislative Council from 1915 to 1934, representing three successive conservative parties, the Liberal Union, Liberal Federation and Liberal and Country League. History William Morrow was born in Bairnsdale, Victoria in 1872, and had early experience as a "printer's devil" and machine operator. He moved to Queensland, where he learned the craft of a tailor, then moved to Port Pirie, South Australia in 1891, entering into partnership as tailors and outfitters on Alexander Street with William J. Paull, whom he bought out 12 months later. In 1899 he built new premises at the corner of Ellen and David streets, where the Commonwealth Bank and other businesses were later situated. William S. Morrow (August 16, 1907 – February 5, 1971) was a comedic screenwriter and producer who wrote scripts for radio, films and television. Career He launched his writing career with Jack Benny in 1938 and for 25 years was Bing Crosby's top writer. He arrived in Los Angeles with Ed Beloin from Chicago to work on Jack Benny's writing staff, and he remained with the comedian until entering the Armed Forces in 1942. During his time with Jack Benny, he wrote for two of Benny’s films, '' Love Thy Neighbor'' (1940) and ''Buck Benny Rides Again'' (1940), as well as for the star vehicle ''Tales of Manhattan'' (1942). Released from the Armed Forces in 1945, he joined Bing Crosby and not only worked on his radio shows but on his films and television shows as well. William Morrow (footballer)
William 'Bill' Morrow (15 November 1851 – 22 January 1922) was an Irish footballer who played in the 1880s, most notably for Moyola Park. He was a winner of the inaugural Irish Cup and earned three caps for Ireland. After initially playing rugby and later cricket in Mountpottinger, Morrow took up football late, and was about thirty years old when he signed for Ulster F.C., his first club. After a year at Ballynafeigh Park he signed for Moyola Park in 1881. With the Castledawson side he would win the inaugural Irish Cup in 1881. Morrow was team captain and the only goalscorer in the final, a 1-0 win against Belfast side Cliftonville, netting the 75th minute winner at the Cliftonville Cricket Ground, Belfast in front of 1,500 spectators. Morrow played three times for Ireland making his debut February 1883 in a 7-0 loss away to England at the Aigburth Cricket Ground. Arthur William Morrow (12 July 1903 – 22 August 1977) was an Australian physician and specialist in gastroenterology. He served terms as president of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and of the Australian Club. Early life Bill Morrow was born at East Maitland, New South Wales, the only child of Arthur John Morrow and Helonar (née Harkin). Morrow attended Newington College (1919–1921) and was cox of the school's First VIII that won the Head of the River regatta in 1921. In the same year, he won the Wigram Allen Scholarship, awarded by Sir George Wigram Allen, for general proficiency, with Hubert Cunliffe-Jones receiving it for classics.
