Whisper A Prayer
''Whisper a Prayer'' is the third studio album by British singer-songwriter Mica Paris. It was released on 8 June 1993 by 4th & B'way Records, her last for the label. Recording sessions for the album commenced in the spring of 1992 and concluded the following spring with Paris co-writing four of the twelve songs and producing one. ''Whisper a Prayer'' features writing and production from Narada Michael Walden, Rod Temperton and Terry Britten all of whom were top record producers at the time. The album has received acclaim from critics who complimented the quality of the writing and production in addition to Paris' voice and delivery of the songs. The album was a moderate commercial success, bettering its predecessor '' Contribution'' on the UK Albums Chart, debuting at number twenty. It was less successful in the US where it peaked at ninety-nine on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Mica Paris
Michelle Antoinette Wallen (born 27 April 1969), known professionally as Mica Paris (), is an English singer, presenter and actress. Paris was born in Islington in North London, but moved to Brockley, South London, when she was nine. She released her debut album, '' So Good'', in 1988, which spawned singles including " My One Temptation" and " Where Is the Love". She has since gone on to release seven further albums; '' Contribution'' (1990), '' Whisper a Prayer'' (1993), '' Black Angel'' (1998), ''If You Could Love Me'' (2005), ''Soul Classics'' (2005), ''Born Again'' (2009) and '' Gospel'' (2020). In 2020, Paris was cast in the BBC soap opera '' EastEnders'' as Ellie Nixon. Terence Ernest Britten (born July 1947) is an English-Australian singer-songwriter and record producer, who has written songs for Tina Turner, Cliff Richard, Olivia Newton-John, Status Quo and Michael Jackson amongst many others. Britten (along with co-writer Graham Lyle) won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 1985 for "What's Love Got to Do with It". Career Born on the 17 July 1947, a native of Manchester, Britten began writing for the Adelaide, Australia band The Twilights, a popular 1960s band for which he played lead guitar. ''So Good'' is the debut album by British recording artist Mica Paris. It was released on 1 August 1988 by 4th & B'way Records. The album was a commercial success, peaking at number six on the UK Albums Chart and also appearing stateside on the ''Billboard'' 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. ''So Good'' was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), denoting shipments of over 300,000 copies in the UK.
