Water Polo At The 2020 Summer Olympics
The water polo tournaments at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place at the Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center in Kōtō. Twenty-two teams (twelve for men and ten for women) competed in the tournament, an increase of two from the previous editions.Men's Water polo was also the last final played before the closing ceremony. It was originally scheduled to be held in 2020, but on 24 March 2020, the Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Schedule The match schedule as of 9 March 2021. Ioannis Fountoulis (also Giannis, el, Γιάννης Φουντούλης; born 25 May 1988) is a Greek water polo player. He is currently the captain of Greece men's national water polo team, with whom he won a bronze medal at the 2015 World Championships, a bronze medal at the 2016 World League , 2020 World League and competed at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. He played for the Greek powerhouse Olympiacos since 2009, and in 2018 he won the 2017–18 LEN Champions League with the Greek giants, scoring 4 goals in the final game against Pro Recco in Genoa. Georgios Dervisis ( el, Γιώργος Δερβίσης, born 30 October 1994) is a water polo player of Greece. He was part of the Greek team winning the bronze medal at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships.
