Weddin Mountains National Park
Weddin Mountains is a national park located in New South Wales, Australia, west of Sydney. It is a small, crescent-shaped range, with a high point some , running roughly north south with steep cliffs on the eastern side sloping more gradually down to the plain in the west. Weddin mountains is a small patch of remnant vegetation which escaped clearing due to its ruggedness. Many aircraft pass overhead on their way from Sydney to Adelaide, is part of the Geology of Victoria#Neoproterozoic to early Carboniferous, Lachlan Fold system and is Wiradjuri country. History Bushrangers Ben Hall (bushranger), Ben Hall, who plundered the Forbes-Grenfell area in the 1850s used the Weddin Mountains as a refuge. He holed up in a cave on the north-west side of the park with his gang, which included John Gilbert (bushranger), Johnnie Gilbert and Frank Gardiner. Swift Parrot
The swift parrot (''Lathamus discolor''), also known by the palawa kani name swift waylitja, is a species of broad-tailed parrot, found only in southeastern Australia. The species breeds in Tasmania during the summer and migrates north to southeastern mainland Australia from Griffith, New South Wales, Griffith-Warialda, New South Wales, Warialda in New South Wales and west to Adelaide in the winter. It is a nomadic migrant, and it settles in an area only when there is food available. Grenfell is a town in Weddin Shire in the Central West of New South Wales, Australia. It is west of Sydney. It is close to Forbes, Cowra and Young. Superb Parrot
The superb parrot (''Polytelis swainsonii''), also known as Barraband's parrot, Barraband's parakeet, or green leek parrot, is a parrot native to south-eastern Australia. It is a dimorphic species and one of three species in the genus ''Polytelis''. The superb parrot is mostly bright green with darker flight feathers and is about long with a long pointed tail. Adult males have continuous yellow foreheads and throats, with a red horizontal band across the border of the throat.
