Sport in Serbia plays an important role, and the country has a strong sporting history. The most popular sports in Serbia are football, basketball, tennis, volleyball, water polo and handball. Professional sports in Serbia are organized by sporting federations and leagues (in case of team sports). FK Spartak Zlatibor Voda
Fudbalski klub Spartak Ždrepčeva Krv () is a professional football club from Subotica, Serbia, that plays in the Serbian SuperLiga. The club was founded in 1945 and was named after Jovan Mikić Spartak, the leader of the Partisans in Subotica, who was a national hero and was killed in 1944. After the end of the 2007–08 Serbian League Vojvodina, the club merged with '' Zlatibor Voda'' which won promotion to the Serbian First League thus gaining the name Spartak Zlatibor Voda. Vladimir Milić
Vladimir Milić ( sr, Владимир Милић; born 23 October 1955) is a retired Serbian shot putter who represented SFR Yugoslavia. He was born in Žegar, SR Croatia, but represented the club AK Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade. He won the gold medal at the 1982 European Indoor Championships, the gold medal at the 1979 Mediterranean Games and the bronze medal at the 1983 Mediterranean Games. He finished eighth at the 1980 Olympic Games, fourth at the 1982 European Championships, fifth at the 1983 European Indoor Championships, ninth at the 1983 World Championships, seventh at the 1986 European Championships, and seventh at the 1987 European Indoor Championships. Vera Nikolić
Vera Nikolić (Serbian Cyrillic: Вера Николић; 23 September 1948 – 28 June 2021) was a Serbian middle-distance runner, who competed at the 1968 and 1972 Olympics, and later coach. She had her best achievements in the 800 m event, in which she won European titles in 1966 and 1971 and set a world record, 2:00.5, on 20 July 1968 holding it until 11 July 1971. She came to the 1968 Olympics as a favorite, but due to the pressure of being the favorite she gave up her semifinal – after leading it for 300 m she suddenly stepped off the track, walked back to the start, sat down and took off her shoes. She set her personal best in 800 m in finishing fifth in the final at 1972 Olympics. Belgrade Marathon
The Belgrade Marathon is a marathon race held annually in Belgrade since 1988. It is typically held in mid-April and also features a half marathon and a fun run for the public. The Belgrade Marathon is one of the biggest sporting events in Serbia. History A marathon existed in 1910 from Obrenovac to Belgrade.
