Vogel is a small lunar impact crater located to the southeast of Albategnius. It was named after the German astronomer Hermann Carl Vogel. It is the smallest member of a trio of craters that increase in size from north to south, consisting of Vogel, Argelander and Airy. To the west is the remnant of the crater Parrot Parrots, also known as psittacines (), are birds of the roughly 398 species in 92 genera comprising the order Psittaciformes (), found mostly in tropical and subtropical regions. Vogel Ski Resort is a Slovenian ski resort located above Bohinj next to Lake Bohinj. The nearest city is Bled. Ljubljana is about an hour away. The resort was opened in 1964. It has a total of of ski slopes, tracks for cross country skiing and a snowboard park. The ski resort is located on the outskirts of Triglav National Park, therefore all snowmaking activities are forbidden on the area. The ski resort is named after nearby Mount Vogel. Vogel State Park
Vogel State Park is a or 94 hectares state park located at the base of Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest. It became one of the first two parks in Georgia when it founded a state park system in 1931. Much of the park was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s. The park features streams, a waterfall, and Lake Trahlyta. At elevation it is one of Georgia's highest altitude state parks. The mountainous habitats surrounding the lake support a wide assortment of plants and animals. Within the park are a series of hiking trails. These include the Bear Hair Gap Trail and the more strenuous Coosa Backcountry Trail, which leads up toward Blood Mountain and the Appalachian Trail near Neel Gap. Vogel Peak () is a peak, 1,350 m, rising 1.5 nautical miles (2.8 km) southeast of Ross Pass in the Salvesen Range of South Georgia. ''The Last Valley'' (1959), by J. B. Pick, is an historical novel about the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648). The story occurs from September 1637 to March 1638, and centres on two men – a mercenary soldier and an intellectual – who are fleeing the destruction and starvation wrought by religious war.
