Vital Signs (Survivor Album)
''Vital Signs'' is the fifth studio album by American rock band Survivor and their first with vocalist Jimi Jamison released in September 1984. Although Jamison did not sound much like Dave Bickler, the album was their second most successful in the U.S., reaching #16 on the Billboard Album charts and being certified platinum by the RIAA. The album includes singles "I Can't Hold Back" which peaked at #13 on Billboard Hot 100 chart, "High on You" reached #8, "The Search Is Over" #4 and "First Night" #53. ''Vital Signs'' is one of the very few studio albums that remained commercially available by Volcano Entertainment after they took a great deal of their releases out of print in August 2009. Rock Candy Records also remastered the content of ''Vital Signs'' and reissued it in 2010, adding "The Moment of Truth" (from ''The Karate Kid'' soundtrack) as a bonus track. Survivor (band)
Survivor is an American rock band formed in Chicago in 1978 by Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan. The band achieved its best success in the 1980s, producing many charting singles, especially in the United States. The band is best-known for their double-platinum-certified 1982 hit " Eye of the Tiger", the theme song for the 1982 motion picture ''Rocky III''; that single spent six weeks at number one in the US. The band continued to chart in the mid-1980s with singles like "Burning Heart" (US number 2), " The Search Is Over" (US number 4), "High on You" (US number 8), "Is This Love" (US number 9), and "I Can't Hold Back" (US number 13). Doug Lionel Sax (April 26, 1936 – April 2, 2015) was an American mastering engineer from Los Angeles, California. John Michael Thomas (born December 3, 1949) is an American rock singer, best known as one of the lead vocalists of Jefferson Starship and Starship. Early life Thomas was born in Cairo, Georgia, on December 3, 1949. He was inspired to pursue a career in music after travelling to Atlanta with longtime childhood friends Charles Connell and Tommy Verran to see a Beatles performance in 1965. Peter F. Wolf (born August 25, 1952) is an Austrian composer, producer, songwriter and arranger. In 2002, he was awarded the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art, 1st class (''Österreichische Ehrenkreuz für Wissenschaft und Kunst''). "The Moment of Truth" is a song recorded by the rock band Survivor. It was the first hit single with their new lead singer Jimi Jamison, originally from Cobra, who replaced Dave Bickler. Frankie Sullivan
Frankie Sullivan (born February 1, 1955) is an American guitarist, best known for being a founding member of the rock band Survivor. He has been the only permanent fixture in its lineup since the band's 1977 inception. Early life According to pianist and keyboardist Jimmy Tranchitella of Northlake, Illinois, Sullivan's musical career began in his early teens. He enjoyed sports and started running when he was 17; he became a lifelong runner. One of his heroes is Muhammad Ali, and he has a framed autograph from the boxer hanging in his home.
