University Of Toronto Campus Safety
The University of Toronto Campus Safety Division, formerly named the University of Toronto Campus Police, was created in 1904 as the university's University police, campus police force. The University of Toronto Campus Safety division has jurisdiction over 80,000 students, faculty and staff, in addition to the thousands of visitors to the University each day. The division is commanded by three Police (Special Constable) managers assigned to each campus (St. George, Scarborough and Mississauga-Erindale). Several platoons have been organized which consist of Staff Sergeants, Corporals and Constables. These platoons of officers provide policing services to the University around the clock, 365 days per year. University Police
Campus police or university police in the United States and Canada are sworn police or peace officers employed by a college or university to protect that private property of the campus and surrounding areas and the people who live, work, and visit it. In instances where they are not technically police officers, they are often known as campus safety or campus security. Scenes Of Crime Officer
A scenes of crime officer (SOCO) is an officer who gathers forensic evidence for the British police. They are also referred to by some forces as forensic scene investigators (FSIs), crime scene investigators (CSIs) (although their job differs from that depicted in the CBS TV series), or crime scene examiners (CSEs). SOCOs are usually not police officers, but are employed by the police forces. Evidence collected is passed to the detectives of the Criminal Investigation Department and to the forensic laboratories.
