Udhampur–Jammu Highway
Udhampur Jammu highway is the national highway and the road in Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), Jammu and Kashmir that connects municipal committee of Udhampur with Jammu City. The highway is long passing through lofty mountain terrains. The highway also provides road link which connects Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, Katra with rest of India. The highway is the small part of Srinagar Jammu National Highway. Reconstruction The highway is in the process of major reconstruction. The task is being carried out by National Highway Authority of India funded by Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Government of India. The whole highway is being rebuilt as four lane road with better bitumen pavement, new traffic sign boards, footpaths, tax toll offices, traffic signals, introduction of new tunnels with minimum number of road curves which would not only provide comfort to the passengers but would also reduce distance between Udhampur and Jammu to certain extent. Udhampur
Udhampur (ˌʊd̪ʱəmpur) is a city and a municipal council in Udhampur district in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the headquarters of Udhampur District. Named after Raja Udham Singh, it serves as the district capital and the Northern Command headquarters of the Indian Army. A Forward Base Support Unit (FBSU) of the Indian Air Force is also stationed here. Udhampur is used by the Armed Forces as a transit point between Jammu and Srinagar when travelling by road on National Highway 1A, which has since then been renamed as National Highway 44. Samba is a town, municipal committee in the only Samba Tehsil of the Samba District in the Indian Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Geography Samba is located at and has an average elevation of . 90 Feet Road
90 Feet Road is the southern segment of the Srinagar-Leh Highway ( National Highway 1D), which connects Srinagar with Ladakh. The 90 Feet Road begins in Soura, Srinagar, about 11.1 km north of the commercial centre of Lal Chowk. It extends north for and ends at Pandach, Ganderbal. Thereafter, NH 1D turns eastward toward Leh. Its name reflects the fact that it is wide throughout. Locals call it Nammath, which is "ninety" in the Kashmiri language. History The road was built in the early 21st century by clearing the existing clay dunes. It is considered one of the most prestigious roads in the city. Foreshore Road
Foreshore Road is one of the prestigious roads in the city of Srinagar. The notability of the road lies in the fact that the entire road lies on the banks of Dal Lake. The road starts from Hazratbal, Srinagar and ends at Nishat. The famous Mughal Gardens of Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh are situated on the road. The economy of the people living here greatly depends on tourism. The road is also connected to the Boulevard road. Driving on the road provides glances of the beautiful Dal Lake and views of the sunset can be enjoyed from this road. Ramban District
Ramban district is a district in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, located in the lap of the Pir Panjal range. It was carved out as a separate district from erstwhile Doda district in 2007. It is located in the Jammu division.
