UAAP Season 85 Basketball Tournaments
The UAAP Season 85 basketball tournaments are the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) basketball tournaments for the 2022–23 school year. The collegiate men's and women's tournaments began on October 1, 2022. Richard "Dickie" Bachmann, former Alaska Aces governor in the Philippine Basketball Association, was appointed as the UAAP basketball commissioner for this season. Bachmann's term as basketball commissioner will extend to the league's 86th season. Tournament format The UAAP will continue to use the UAAP Final Four format. Fr. Aldrin Suan, UAAP president, said that the league will revert to its pre-pandemic Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday schedule. The league will also include a "head coaches' challenge" based on the FIBA challenge system. This gives each team one challenge per game to review questionable calls by the officials. SM Mall Of Asia Arena
The SM Mall of Asia Arena, also known as the Mall of Asia Arena or the MoA Arena, is an indoor arena within the SM Mall of Asia complex, in Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. It has a seating capacity of 15,000 for sporting events, and a full house capacity of 20,000. The Arena officially opened on May 21, 2012. The Adamson Soaring Falcons are the collegiate men's basketball team of Adamson University, which play in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), the premiere sports league in the country. History Adamson University alongside with Manila Central University (MCU), University of Manila and University of the East (UE) were admitted in 1952 on a two-year probationary membership status. Only UE and MCU retained as permanent member. However, MCU pulled-out in 1962. Adamson was readmitted into the association in 1970. Olsen Racela
Rodericko Cesar Escueta Racela, also known as Olsen Racela, (born November 1, 1970) is the head coach of the FEU Tamaraws men's basketball team. He is also currently an assistant coach of the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He is a retired PBA player and is considered to be one of the best point guards who ever played in the league. He was also a notable member of the Philippine national basketball team on many occasions. FEU Tamaraws Basketball
The FEU Tamaraws men's basketball is a collegiate basketball varsity team of the Far Eastern University. FEU currently holds the record of winning the most number of championships (20 titles) in the men's basketball division of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. FEU also appeared in the Philippine Collegiate Championship finals four times, and was able to win back to back championships in 2004 and 2005. The team originally played in the NCAA from 1929 to 1936 and was one of its founding members. Pocholo "Cholo" Iñigo Villanueva (born November 24, 1982) is a Filipino former professional basketball player and head coach for the Batangas City Embassy Chill of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and the De La Salle Lady Archers of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The De La Salle Green Archers are the collegiate men's basketball team of De La Salle University, which play in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), the premiere sports league in the country.
