Unloved
''Unloved'' is a 2001 Japanese romance film directed by Kunitoshi Manda, starring Yoko Moriguchi, Shunsuke Matsuoka and Tōru Nakamura (actor), Tōru Nakamura. It won the Grand Rail d'Or prize and the Future Talent prize at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. Plot Mitsuko (Yoko Moriguchi), a young woman, becomes involved with Hiroshi (Shunsuke Matsuoka), a poor young man who lives her downstairs, and Eiji (Tōru Nakamura), a rich entrepreneur. Kunitoshi Manda
is a Japanese film director, screenwriter and film critic. Biography Kunitoshi Manda was a student at Rikkyo University, where he took Shigehiko Hasumi's filmology class. Manda directed his first feature film, ''Unloved'', in 2001. It won the Grand Rail d'Or prize and the Future Talent prize at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. ''The Tunnel'', one of his television films, screened at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. Manda's third feature film, ''The Kiss (2007 film), The Kiss'', premiered at the Jeonju International Film Festival in 2008. Japanese film critic Inuhiko Yomota praised the film as "a fantastic film." His 2014 film, ''Dog's Way'', premiered at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival. Akiko Ashizawa
is a Japanese cinematographer and photographer. Career Starting in 8mm film and pink film, Ashizawa eventually became an assistant to the cinematographers Hideo Itō and Takayo Oshikiri. She turned independent in 1982 and has photographed the films of directors such as Kiyoshi Kurosawa, Kunitoshi Manda, and Shō Igarashi, in addition to doing the camera for TV commercials and documentaries.
