Under Forvandlingens Lov
''Under forvandlingens lov'' (Under the Law of Change) or ''Jo tykkere, jo bedre'' (The Thicker, the Better) is a Norwegian silent film from 1911. It is the oldest known surviving Norwegian film, and it was directed by Halfdan Nobel Roede. The film has been characterized as an erotic melodrama, and it premiered in Kristiania (now Oslo) on December 4, 1911. The script for the film was written by Peter Lykke-Seest under the pseudonym ''Søløvenskjold Pedersen''. In 1992, Gunnar Iversen claimed that Roede's lost 1912 silent film '' I frihetens bur'' (In the Cage of Freedom) is actually the same film as ''Under forvandlingens lov''. Plot The film is a jealousy drama in which Camillo and Francisca discover that their spouses Julia and Arthur are having an affair with each other. They drug the unfaithful spouses and lock them in separate cages until they get tired of each other, and the spouses find each other again and become happy. Halfdan Nobel Roede
Halfdan (, ang, Healfdene, Medieval Latin, Medieval : "half Danes, Dane") was a late 5th and early 6th century legendary Danish king of the Scylding (Skjöldung) lineage, the son of king named Fróði in many accounts, noted mainly as the father to the two kings who succeeded him in the rule of Denmark, kings named Hroðgar and Halga in the Old English poem ''Beowulf'' and named Hróar and Helgi in Old Norse accounts. Olaf Mørch Hansson
Olaf Mørch Hansson (28 July 1856 – 22 February 1912) was a Norwegian actor and theatre director, journalist and newspaper editor. He was married to Thora Hansson from 1880 to 1896, and then to Agnethe Schibsted-Hansson from 1896 to 1912. Biography Olaf Mørch Hansson was born in Eiker (now Øvre Eiker), in Buskerud county, Norway. After a year at Drammen scholars school and one year at Trondheim Technical Learning Institution he had finished his schooling. He made his stage debut in 1877 at Den Nationale Scene in Bergen. He worked at Christiania Theater from 1878 to 1883, and edited the newspaper ''Norske Intelligensseddeler'' from 1883 to 1886. Peter Lykke-Seest (26 September 1868 – 4 February 1948) was a Norwegian poet, novelist, playwright, non-fiction writer, script writer and film director. He was born in Christiania as a son of wholesaler Jens Peter Seest and Caroline Christiane Frederikke Thy. He was married to the actress and writer Lila Lykke-Seest. He made his literary debut in 1896 with the poetry collection ''Hvide nætter'', and published the novel ''Under Paddehatten'' in 1898. His most popular film was '' Historien om en gut'' from 1919. He published a book on the trial against Vidkun Quisling in 1945. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality.
