U Of L Sports Network
The U of L Sports Network is the radio network of the University of Louisville Cardinals. It consists of fifteen (15) radio stations in primarily located in Kentucky, but the network serves much of Kentucky and southern Indiana. Louisville, Kentucky
Louisville ( , , ) is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the 28th most-populous city in the United States. Gilbertsville, Kentucky
Gilbertsville is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Marshall County, Kentucky, United States. It is the closest village to the Kentucky Dam. The town was relocated to its present site when Kentucky Dam and Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park replaced the former site. As of the 2020 census, the population of Gilbertsville was 332. History Old Gilbertsville The original town of Gilbertsville was founded in 1871 near the Tennessee River as "Clear Pond", named for a nearby lake. In 1874 it was incorporated and renamed "Gilbertsville" in honor of Jesse C. Gilbert, who served as a Kentucky state senator from 1871 to 1875. Calvert City, Kentucky
Calvert City is a home rule-class city in Marshall County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 2,566 at the 2010 census. History Calvert City was named for Potilla Willis Calvert. He built his home, Oak Hill, in 1860 and around a decade later gave a portion of his land to a new railroad, specifying that a station be built near his home.Rennick, Robert. WVKY WVKY (101.7 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Shelbyville, Kentucky, and serving eastern portions of the Louisville metropolitan area. The station is owned by CapCity Communications under licensee Southern Belle, LLC. It airs a country music radio format which is simulcast on 104.9 WFKY in Frankfort. The station calls itself "Froggy 101.7 and 104.9," using a frog as its mascot. History The station was assigned the call sign WCKD on April 1, 1989. On July 8, 1989, the station changed its call sign to WCKP; it signed on September 30, 1989.
