UEFA Euro 2008 Squads
The following is a list of squads for each nation competing at UEFA Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland. The tournament started on 7 June and the final took place in Vienna on 29 June 2008. Each national team had to submit a squad of 23 players, three of whom had to be goalkeepers, by 28 May 2008. If a player was injured severely enough to prevent his participation in the tournament before his team's first match, he could be replaced by another player. All caps, goals, ages, and clubs of players are correct as of 7 June 2008, the first day of the tournament. UEFA Euro 2008
The 2008 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2008 or simply Euro 2008, was the 13th UEFA European Championship, a quadrennial association football, football tournament contested by the member nations of UEFA (the Union of European Football Associations). It took place in Austria and Switzerland (both hosting the tournament for the first time) from 7 to 29 June 2008. The tournament was won by Spain men's national football team, Spain, who defeated Germany national football team, Germany 1–0 in the UEFA Euro 2008 Final, final. Spain were only the second nation to win all their group stage fixtures and then the European Championship itself, matching France's achievement from UEFA Euro 1984 Final, 1984. Jan Koller
Jan Koller (; born 30 March 1973) is a Czech former professional footballer who played as a forward. He was noted for his height, strong physique and heading ability. He began his career at Sparta Prague, then moved to Belgium, where he became the Belgian First Division top scorer with Lokeren. He won the league championship twice with Anderlecht and the Belgian Golden Shoe. In 2001, he joined Borussia Dortmund, where he won the Bundesliga title in his first season and scored 73 goals in 167 official games over five campaigns. Marek Matějovský
Marek Matějovský (born 20 December 1981) is a Czech former footballer who played as a central midfielder. He was valued as a creative player with a high number of assists for goals. He is among the most significant players of the history of the Czech First League, where he played 443 games and retired at the age of 43. He spent most of his career in FK Mladá Boleslav and AC Sparta Prague, but he also played in the Premier League and for the Czech Republic national football team. Jaromír Blažek
Jaromír Blažek (; born 29 December 1972) is a Czech former professional football goalkeeper. Apart from one season in Germany, he has spent his entire professional career in the Czech Republic. Blažek has also been called up as a reserve goalkeeper to the Czech Republic national football team at three UEFA European Championships and the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Club career Born in Brno, Blažek started his career in Slavia Prague, where he got to play his first league games. Milan Baroš
Milan Baroš (; born 28 October 1981) is a Czech former professional footballer who played as a forward. In 2005, he was part of the Liverpool team which won the UEFA Champions League. He went on to win Ligue 1 with Lyon in 2007, the FA Cup with Portsmouth in 2008 and the Süper Lig with Galatasaray in 2012. He also had spells with Baník Ostrava, where he started his career, and English club Aston Villa, and retired from professional football in 2020 following his fourth spell at Baník Ostrava. David Jarolím (; born 17 May 1979) is a Czech football manager and former player who most recently managed Ústí nad Labem.
