U.S. Route 71 In Missouri
U.S. Route 71 (US 71) is a major north–south U.S. Highway that runs from Louisiana to Canada. US 71 enters Missouri from Arkansas in the town of Jane. US 71 serves the cities of Joplin, Kansas City and St. Joseph. At noon on December 12, 2012, the section of US 71 between Pineville, Missouri and Bannister Road in south Kansas City was also designated as a northern extension of Interstate 49 (I-49). Route description US 71 enters Missouri in Jane coming from Arkansas. A new bypass known as the Bella Vista Bypass, goes around Jane and Bella Vista, Arkansas to connect with the freeway section of US 71 near Pineville opened October 1, 2021. At this point, Interstate 49 begins its concurrency with US 71. I-49 and US 71 pass through many smaller communities before reaching Joplin. Jane, Missouri
Jane is a village in McDonald County, Missouri, United States. It is located on Route 90 at its intersection with U.S. Route 71. The original settlement is approximately one mile east on an older alignment of US 71. It had been an unincorporated community for many years, and previously had the ZIP code of 64846, though rural delivery is currently managed from the post office in Anderson. Jane now shares the ZIP code of 64856 with Pineville, the county seat, and the post office which had previously been charged with rural mail delivery prior to its scaling back of operations. Jane re-incorporated in 2005 after a petition-drive of local residents, in order to block possible annexation by Pineville, five miles to the northwest. Pineville had greatly expanded the city limit with the opening of the widened US 71 (later named Interstate 49) highway, to its west. Grandview Triangle
The 3-Trails Crossing Memorial Highway is the official name for an interchange in south Kansas City, Missouri that was once considered one of Missouri's most congested locations. Although it is known as Grandview Triangle, it is not located in Grandview, a suburb of Kansas City. It is actually north of Grandview, still within the city limits of Kansas City. After several years of reconstruction, the interchange itself is largely congestion free during non-peak hours despite the high traffic on the highways approaching the interchange. Carthage is a city in Jasper County, Missouri, United States. The population was 15,522 as of the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Jasper County and is nicknamed "America's Maple Leaf City." Interstate 44 In Missouri
Interstate 44 (I-44) in the US state of Missouri runs northeast from the Oklahoma state line near Joplin to I-70 in Downtown St. Louis. It runs for about in the state, and is the longest Interstate Highway in the state. Route description I-44 enters Missouri in Newton County at the eastern terminus of the Will Rogers Turnpike, south of the Kansas state line. The first interchange in Missouri is the eastern terminus of both U.S. Route 166 (US 166) and US 400. This highway next goes through southern Joplin and then begins to run concurrently with I-49/ US 71 at exit 11 just after entering Jasper County. Interstate 49 (I-49) is a north–south Interstate Highway that exists in multiple segments: the original portion entirely within the state of Louisiana with an additional signed portion extending from I-220 in Shreveport to the Arkansas state line, three newer sections in Arkansas, and a new section that opened in Missouri. Pineville, Missouri
Pineville is a city in and the county seat of McDonald County, Missouri, United States. The population was 791 at the 2010 census. History Pineville was originally named Maryville, and under the latter name was laid out in 1847. The name was changed to Pineville in 1849 since another community already had the name of Maryville. Some say that the community of Pineville, Missouri was named for a grove of pine trees at the original town site, while others believe the name is a transfer from Pineville, Kentucky.
