"Trip" is a pop punk song recorded by Canadian band Hedley. It was released on October 4, 2005 as the third single from their debut album '' Hedley'' (2005). The single topped the Canadian MuchMusic ''Countdown'' and reached number eleven on the Canadian Singles Chart. It sold close to 3,000 copies. "Trip" appears on the US version of ''Famous Last Words'', which is called ''Never Too Late''. Music video The music video for "Trip" was released in 2005. The video was directed by Jack Richardson and Kyle Davidson. Commercial performance "Trip" is the second Hedley single to reach the Canadian Singles Chart as it peaked at number 11. It also reached the Canada CHR/Pop Top 30 at number 14 and number 9 on the Canada Hot AC Top 30. The song reached number 1 on Canada's MuchMusic Countdown on the week of February 17, 2006. Hedley (band)
Hedley was a Canadian pop rock group that originated in Abbotsford, British Columbia, originally formed in 2003. They were named after the unincorporated community of Hedley, British Columbia, a name chosen after members heard that it was for sale for $346,000. After lead singer Jacob Hoggard placed third on the second season of '' Canadian Idol'' in 2004, the group signed with Universal Music Canada and released their self-titled debut studio album the following year. After signing an international recording contract with Capitol Records in 2006, which brought them an increased American following. ''Famous Last Words'' is the second full-length album by Hedley released on October 30, 2007. It debuted at number three on the Canadian Albums Chart upon release. In the United States, the album is known as ''Never Too Late'' and was released on May 12, 2009. The album only includes 8 tracks from the Canadian release and contains 5 tracks from '' Hedley'', which replaced the missing tracks from ''Famous Last Words''. Unlike ''Famous Last Words'', ''Never Too Late'' has a blue background on its album cover, whereas the Canadian release has a red background on its cover. Background and recording The group began working on their second studio album in May 2007 with producers Dave Genn and Greig Nori. George Marino (April 15, 1947 – June 4, 2012) was an American mastering engineer known for working on albums by rock bands starting in the late 1960s. Biography Marino was born on April 15, 1947, in the New York City borough The Bronx. He attended Christopher Columbus High School there and learned to play the saxophone and bass fiddle in the high school band and was classically trained on guitar. Marino broke into the music business as a guitarist playing rock and roll in local New York City bands such as The Chancellors and The New Sounds Ltd. until most of the band members were drafted into the service for the war in Vietnam.
