Tomáš Hanák
Tomáš Hanák (born March 27, 1957) is a Czech actor, comedian, screenwriter, and TV presenter who has appeared in several films and television shows since 1984. He is also an occasional singer. Biography Hanák was born in Kremnica, Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia). He spent two years in Cuba when he was a child, travelling a lot with his parents, where his father worked as a representative of the PZO in the implementation of engineering contracts. From his youth he devoted himself to rowing and repeatedly competed as a representative of Czechoslovakia in non-socialist countries. He became a repeated champion of the Czech Republic. After graduating from high school and a failed attempt to be admitted to the Faculty of the Academy of Performing of Arts in Prague, he began studying economics at Charles University in Prague, specialised in foreign trade. Kremnica
Kremnica (; german: Kremnitz, hu, Körmöcbánya) is a town in central Slovakia. It has around 5,300 inhabitants. The well-preserved medieval town built above important gold mines is the site of the oldest still-working mint in the world. ''Bony a klid'' is a Czech drama film directed by Vít Olmer. It was released in 1987. Plot The film is set in Prague. Martin, a young man from Mladá Boleslav, becomes a victim of a fraud committed by Richard, a currency dealer (trading foreign currencies was illegal in Czechoslovakia during the socialist era). Seeking to get his money back, he attempts to track Richard down and eventually joins his gang, consisting of Hary, Bíny and Slepejš. He quickly adapts to the lifestyle of big money, debauched parties, prostitutes, and police raids. Bíny betrays one of their deals to a rival gang, led by Karel, and they find themselves on the run from the police. They attempt to seek shelter in Mladá Boleslav, but are eventually found and during the chase, Hary falls to his death from a balcony. The gang appears in court and is sentenced to serve jail time. The Poklad (Carnival) event held yearly on the remote Adriatic Island of Lastovo is one of the more distinctive and authentic carnival traditions celebrated in all of Croatia today. All the island residents participate by wearing folk costumes. The origins of the Lastovo carnival go back to a historical event. Legend has it that Catalan people, Catalan pirates attacked neighbouring Korčula and sent a Turkey, Turkish messenger to Lastovo to tell the islanders to surrender or they would be next. The inhabitants of Lastovo did not let themselves be intimidated – instead they armed themselves and went on the attack. The women and children walked to Hum barefoot from Lastovo and prayed to Sv. Jure (Saint George, St. George) for help and their prayers were answered: a storm destroyed the pirates' ships and the inhabitants of Lastovo caught the messenger. Jan Fischer (; born 2 January 1951) is a Czech politician who served as the prime minister of the Czech Republic from April 2009 to July 2010, heading a caretaker government. Later he was the minister of Finance from July 2013 to January 2014 in another interim government of Jiří Rusnok. A lifelong statistician, he served as president of the Czech Statistical Office beginning in April 2003. In 2012, Fischer announced his candidacy for the 2013 presidential election.
