George King (film Director)
George King (1899 – 26 June 1966) was an English actors' agent, film director, producer and screenplay writer. He is associated with the production of quota quickies. He helmed several of Tod Slaughter's melodramas, including 1936's '' The Demon Barber of Fleet Street''. Career King entered into the film industry after completion of medical studies. His first film ''Too Many Crooks'' featured a young stage actor named Laurence Olivier, also making his film debut. Once launched from routine thrillers, King made the usual array of lightweight comedies, romances and thrillers. With the outbreak of war, King directed some distinctly up-market war movies, most successful of which was ''Candlelight in Algeria'', a vehicle for James Mason. Sunday Wilshin (26 February 190519 March 1991) was a British actress and radio producer; the successor to George Orwell on his resignation in 1943. She was born in London as Mary Aline Wilshin (corroborated by publicly available birth records; other sources give Sunday/ Sundae Mary Aline Horne (-) Wilshin) and educated at the Italia Conti Stage School. John Quin (screenwriter)
John Joseph Quin (2 July 1890 – 1953) was a Scottish footballer who played as a forward. He played in the Football League for Manchester United and Grimsby Town, and also spent a season with Manchester City without making an appearance. After the First World War, he played in Scotland for Clyde and Ayr United. Career Quin was born to Anna Maria (née Burns) and John Quin in Barrhead, Renfrewshire, but lived in Manchester from the age of 12.Dykes (1994), p. 310.
