Third Parrikar Ministry
Third Manohar Parrikar Ministry is the Council of Ministers in Goa Legislative Assembly headed by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. Manohar Parrikar was sworn in as the 10th Chief Minister of Goa state and his government won the vote of confidence in the Goa Legislative Assembly on 16 March 2017. His government won the vote of confidence with the support of 22 MLAs in the 40-member Goa Legislative Assembly. During the trust vote, Parrikar was supported by the 12 MLAs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Sidharth Kuncalienker did not vote since he was the pro tem Speaker), 3 MLAs of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, 3 MLAs of the Goa Forward Party, 3 Independent MLAs and the sole MLA of the Nationalist Congress Party. Manohar Parrikar
Manohar Parrikar (born Manohar Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar; 13 December 1955 – 17 March 2019) was an Indian politician and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party who served as Chief Minister of Goa from 14 March 2017 until his death. Previously, he was Chief Minister of Goa from 2000 to 2005 and from 2012 to 2014 and from 2017 to 2019. He also served as the Minister of Defence from October 2014 to March 2017. In January 2020, he was posthumously awarded Padma Bhushan. Parrikar proposed the name of Narendra Modi as the prime ministerial candidate before 2013 BJP parliamentary elections convention in Goa. A Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) is a representative elected by the voters of an electoral district (constituency) to the legislature of State government in the Indian system of government. From each constituency, the people elect one representative who then becomes a member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). Each state has between seven and nine MLAs for every Member of Parliament (MP) that it has in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India's bicameral parliament. Manohar Ajgaonkar
Manohar Trimbak Ajgaonkar (born 6 November 1954) is an Indian politician and member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Ajgaonkar is a first term member of the Goa Legislative Assembly in 2007 from the Dhargalim constituency in Pernem. He started his career with Indian National Congress. He joined Bharatiya Janata Party in 2002 and won the seat. He returned to Indian National Congress in 2007 and retained the seat. He joined Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party in 2017. He also declared his candidature from Pernem constituency in North Goa. Vijai Sardesai (born 14 June 1970) is an Indian politician who is currently a member of the Goa Legislative Assembly representing the Fatorda constituency and belongs to the Goa Forward Party. Founded in 1963 and based in Panaji, the capital of Goa, it is the largest selling newspaper, amongst the three locally published English newspapers in the state. Pramod Sawant (born 24 April 1973) is an Indian politician and the 11th and current Chief Minister of Goa. Sawant represents the Sanquelim constituency in the Goa Legislative Assembly and is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is an ayurveda medical practitioner by profession.
