''The Ultimate Collection'' is a greatest hits three-CD compilation of recordings by American singer Donna Summer released in the Netherlands in early 2003. Unlike most of Summer's compilations, the 32-bit remastered ''Ultimate Collection'' includes the 16-minute album version of her breakthrough hit, " Love to Love You Baby, the original 12" versions of " Theme from The Deep (Down Deep Inside)", " Last Dance", " Hot Stuff", " Bad Girls", the original album or single versions of her biggest hits as well as the early European singles " The Hostage" and " Lady of the Night". Donna Summer
LaDonna Adrian Gaines (December 31, 1948May 17, 2012), known professionally as Donna Summer, was an American singer and songwriter. She gained prominence during the disco era of the 1970s and became known as the " Queen of Disco", while her music gained a global following. Influenced by the counterculture of the 1960s, Summer became the lead singer of a psychedelic rock band named Crow and moved to New York City. In 1968, she joined a German adaptation of the musical '' Hair'' in Munich, where she spent several years living, acting, and singing. "I Feel Love" is a song by American singer and songwriter Donna Summer. Produced and co-written by Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte, it was recorded for Summer's fifth studio album, ''I Remember Yesterday'' (1977). The album concept was to have each track evoke a different musical decade; for "I Feel Love", the team aimed to create a futuristic mood, employing a Moog synthesizer. The song was released just before the album on May 1, 1977, as the B-side to the single " Can't We Just Sit Down (And Talk It Over)", which rose to number 20 on the US ''Billboard'' R&B chart. Two months later, the sides were flipped and the single was reissued. "Could It Be Magic" is a song with lyrics by Adrienne Anderson and music by Barry Manilow, inspired by Frédéric Chopin's Prelude in C minor, Opus 28, Number 20. The song was initially released in 1971 by Featherbed (a group of session musicians featuring Barry Manilow), produced and co-written by Tony Orlando. It was later re-recorded as a Barry Manilow solo track in his first album released in 1973 on Bell Records. It was then reworked in 1975 and released as a single from the album re-released by Arista Records. The 1975 release became Manilow's third hit after " Mandy" and " It's A Miracle". The song has been recorded by a number of other artists over the years, most successfully by Donna Summer in 1976 and by Take That in 1992. Giorgio Moroder
Giovanni Giorgio Moroder (, ; born 26 April 1940) is an Italian composer, songwriter, and record producer. Dubbed the " Father of Disco", Moroder is credited with pioneering euro disco and electronic dance music. His work with synthesizers had a large influence on several music genres such as Hi-NRG, Italo disco, new wave, house and techno music. When in Munich in the 1970s, Moroder started his own record label called Oasis Records, which several years later became a subdivision of Casablanca Records. He is the founder of the former Musicland Studios in Munich, a recording studio used by many artists including the Rolling Stones, Electric Light Orchestra, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Queen and Elton John. ''Thank God It's Friday'' is a 1978 American musical disco comedy film directed by Robert Klane and produced by Motown Productions and Casablanca FilmWorks for Columbia Pictures.
