The Tenant Of Wildfell Hall (1968 TV Series)
''The Tenant of Wildfell Hall'' is the first adaptation of Anne Brontë's 1848 novel of the same name, produced by BBC and directed by Peter Sasdy. The serial stars Janet Munro as Helen Graham, Bryan Marshall as Gilbert Markham and Corin Redgrave as her spoiled and drunkard husband Arthur Huntington. The serial is incomplete, as episode one, "Recluse", is missing from the BBC Archive. Plot summary A mysterious young woman arrives with her young son at Wildfell Hall, a nearby old mansion. She is determined to lead an independent existence, but her new neighbors won't leave her alone. They want to reveal her secrets and soon she finds herself the victim of local slander. Suzan Farmer
Suzan Maxine Farmer (16 June 1942 – 17 September 2017) was an English film and television actress. She was regularly cast in movies produced by Hammer Films. Early life The daughter of David Farmer, a trader in metals, and Eleanor (née Best), she was born in Maidstone, Kent, although the family later moved to Bray in Berkshire, near the location of Bray Studios, later used by Hammer. Her younger brother is the city financier Michael Farmer, now a Conservative life peer. Both of their parents were alcoholics, as her brother related in his maiden speech in the House of Lords in 2014, and the two children "experienced the poverty, neglect and shame that are such potent drivers of social exclusion". David Farmer's company was liquidated and he died before his elder child was seven. Suzan Farmer trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Janet Key
Janet Key (10 July 1945 – 26 July 1992) was an English actress with a varied career in theatre, film and television from the late 1960s until her death. Career Key was born in Bath, Somerset, and trained at the nearby Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Her stage career included stints with the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, alongside touring and fringe productions. Between 1970 and 1975 Key appeared in four horror films, as well as the sex comedy ''Percy'' and the historical drama ''Lady Caroline Lamb''.
