Ford Beebe (November 26, 1888 – November 26, 1978) was a screenwriter and director. He entered the film business as a writer around 1916 and over the next 60 years wrote and/or directed almost 200 films. He specialized in B-movies – mostly Westerns – and action serials, working on the "Buck Rogers" and "Flash Gordon" serials for Universal Pictures. Life Ford Beebe was born on November 26, 1888, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Before moving to Hollywood he was a freelance writer who was also experienced in advertising. He arrived in Hollywood in 1916 and began working as a writer for Western films. His first credit was as scenario writer for the 1916 film ''A Youth of Fortune''. Beebe directed for the first time when Leo D. Maloney, who had been directing a film called ''The Test'', fell ill. Beebe became known as a director of low-budget films and serials. Jason Nelson Robards (December 31, 1892 – April 4, 1963) was an American stage and screen actor, and the father of Oscar-winning actor Jason Robards Jr. Robards appeared in many films, initially as a leading man, then in character roles and occasional bit parts. Most of his final roles were in television. Life and career Robards was born on a farm in Hillsdale, Michigan, the son of Elizabeth (née Loomis), a schoolteacher, and Frank P. Leonard Miles "Bud" Osborne (July 20, 1884 – February 2, 1964) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 600 films and television programs between 1912 and 1963. Biography Osborne was born Miles Osborne in Knox County, Texas, on February 20, 1884. Osborne attended Oklahoma City schools and was a rancher in Oklahoma's Indian Territory before he became an entertainer. After working with the 101 Ranch Show for five years, he worked with Buffalo Bill's Wild West show for one year in 1912. He became a member of Thomas H. Ince's film company in 1915. Osborne specialized in westerns, and was also noted for his skill as a stage driver, and was thus much in demand from his first film in 1912 right through the early 1950s. Ernie Adams (born Ernest Stephen Dumarais; June 18, 1885 – November 26, 1947) was an American vaudevillian performer, stage and screen actor and writer. Biography Born in San Francisco, California to Leon D. Adams and Laurence G. Girard, he was also billed as Ernest S. Adams and Ernie S. Adams. He appeared in vaudeville, theater, and film. He started his career in musical comedy on Broadway. Along with his wife Berdonna Gilbert, he formed the vaudeville team "Gilbert and Adams". He appeared in more than 400 films starting from the silent era between 1919 and 1948, and was particularly known for playing shady characters. On Broadway, Adams appeared in ''Toot-Toot!'' (1918). On November 26, 1947, Adams died of an acute pulmonary edema at the West Olympic Sanitarium in Los Angeles, California, aged 62.
