The Knew
The Knew is an American rock and roll band from Denver, CO consisting of Jacob Hansen (guitars, vocals), Tim Rynders (bass), Tyler Breuer (guitars), and Andy Thomas (drums). The group takes influences from such acts as The Rolling Stones, The Clash, Dillinger Four, The Replacements, and My Morning Jacket. The Knew has shared the stage with numerous national acts such as Cold War Kids, Deer Tick, Titus Andronicus, Afghan Whigs, Fake Problems, Manchester Orchestra, Slim Cessna's Auto Club and has appeared at such festivals as South by Southwest, CMJ Music Marathon, Mile High Music Festival and the Monolith Festival. The band is renowned for their high energy performances and being front row boys. The Knew's song "Salvazar" was featured in the AMC drama show, ''Breaking Bad'' and their songs "By Yourself" and "United" are both available for the ''Rock Band'' series on Xbox 360. South By Southwest
South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and Convention (meeting), conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987 and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year. In 2017, the conference lasted for 10 days with the interactive track lasting for five days, music for seven days, and film for nine days. There was no in-person event in 2020 and 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Austin, Texas; both years, there was a smaller online event instead. Cock Sparrer () is an English punk rock band formed in 1972 in the East End of London. Although they have never enjoyed commercial success, they helped pave the way for the early '80s punk scene and the Oi! subgenre., Their songs have been covered by many punk, Oi!, and hardcore punk bands. Their style is influenced by pub rock, glam rock and raw 1960s beat music as delivered by bands like the Small Faces and The Who. Daytrotter is a recording studio, music venue and subscription-based music discovery website located in Atlanta, United States. It hosts recording sessions with indie music acts. The original studio in Rock Island, Illinois, was founded in 2006 by Sean Moeller. It later moved to Davenport, Iowa and in 2019 moved to Atlanta, Georgia. The sessions can be compared to that of a radio station's lounge recordings, where musicians passing through the town can record live in the studio.
