The Dream Makers (TV Series)
The Dream Makers () is a 30-episode drama serial that aired on MediaCorp Channel 8 from 24 June 2013 to 2 August 2013. The show aired at 9pm on weekdays and had a repeat telecast at 8am the following day. It stars Zoe Tay, Chen Liping, Jeanette Aw, Rui En, Qi Yuwu, Chen Hanwei, Rebecca Lim, Shaun Chen, Guo Liang & Desmond Tan for the casts of this series. Plot Zhou Weiyun heads a variety channel. The aloof Weiyun appears distant all the time. Weiyun lives with her demented mother, and younger brother's family. Although Weiyun's mother, Yalian, has severe dementia and doesn't remember who she is, Weiyun is the only one filial to her. Weiyun's brother, Jialong is unable to hold down a job and hides the fact that he is financially dependent on Weiyun from his wife. Weiyun's sister-in-law, Xu Guixiang is a housewife who grouses against Weiyun for staying with them in their already small flat, burdening the family. Zoe Tay
Zoe Tay (; born 10 January 1968) is a Singaporean actress and former model. She has been referred to as the "Queen of Caldecott Hill" and "Ah Jie" (Top Actress) by the local media since the rise of her popularity in the 1990s. She is one of the first batch of actors to receive the Star Awards All-Time Favourite Artiste award, along with Li Nanxing and Chew Chor Meng. Li Wenhai (actor)
Li Wenhai (, born ) is a veteran Singaporean actor. He has acted in various Singaporean television dramas. Career In 1981, Li joined Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC). In August 1991, after filming ''Jealousy Potion 100'', Li applied to have an early termination to his acting contract with SBC and to transfer to the voice dubbing department. After eight months, in April 1992, he resigned from SBC. After leaving SBC, Li opened a shop with friends selling Buddhist equipment at Balestier Shopping Center. The shop was eventually closed down in 1988 after the shop lease had finished and business was poor. Li was then invited by the producer and writer of ''Riding the Storm'' to act in the drama. Mark Lee Kok Huang (; born 16 October 1968) is a Singaporean comedian, actor, television host and film director. Early life Lee's father was a barber, and his mother was a food and beverage stall assistant. Star Awards 20 (also SA20, Chinese: 红星大奖 20) was a double television award ceremony which was held in Singapore. It is part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for the two free-to-air channels, MediaCorp Channels 8 and U. The twentieth installment of ''Star Awards'' was broadcast live on Channel 8, on 20 and 27 April 2014. The Asian Television Awards (launched in 1996), is an appreciation to recognize and reward programming and production excellence in the Asian television industry. Held every December, the Awards comprises 56 categories across news, documentaries & current affairs, kids and animation, entertainment, drama, technical, digital as well as performances including acting and directing. Star Awards
The Star Awards (Chinese: 红星大奖) are awards for artistic and technical merit in the media organisation Mediacorp of Singapore where Mediacorp recognises entertainers under their employment for outstanding performances of the year. The awards are given annually in a ceremony. The various category winners are awarded a trophy, with initial designs featuring various star shapes. The star was subsequently removed and the trophy is designed as a S shaped column, depicting the star. Dennis Chew Chong Kheng (born 15 August 1973), also known as Zhou Chongqing, is a Singaporean radio deejay, actor, variety show host and singer.
