The Day It Rained on Our Parade (simplified Chinese: 那一年我们淋着雨) is a 4-part Singaporean Chinese drama produced in conjunction with National Day and the 47th anniversary of independence from the British. It starred Eelyn Kok, Cynthia Koh, Pan Lingling, Chew Chor Meng, Aileen Tan, Priscelia Chan & Ng Hui as the casts of the series. It was telecasted on Singapore's free-to-air channel, MediaCorp Channel 8. It debuted on 4 August 2012, and screened every Saturday night at 10:30 pm, with a repeat telecast at Sunday afternoons at 12:00pm. The series was dubbed in English, Malay and Tamil and aired on Channel 5, Suria and Vasantham. Eelyn Kok
Eelyn Kok Hui Wen () is a Singaporean actress. She was prominently a full-time MediaCorp artist from 2001 to 2013, but continues to film on an ad hoc basis. Career Kok was first spotted in SPH MediaWorks's talent show ''Route to Glamour'' in 2001 and was a contestant alongside Jeanette Aw and Adam Chen. Although she did not win, she was offered a contract with MediaWorks and later joined MediaCorp in 2005 when the two companies merged. Kok started her acting career playing supporting roles in her starting years, frequently portraying villainous characters such as in ''The Little Nyonya''. She was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress category in 2009 but lost to winners Xiang Yun and Ng Hui. Singapore National Day Parade
The National Day Parade (NDP) is an annual parade held in Singapore to commemorate its independence. Held annually on 9 August, it is the main public celebration of National Day, consists of a parade incorporating contingents of the Singapore Armed Forces, Ministry of Home Affairs, local institutions and community groups, followed by a cultural presentation culminating with a fireworks display. First held on 9 August 1966 to mark the one-year anniversary of the Proclamation of Singapore, it has been held annually since then. Wang Yuqing
Tan Chooi Leong or better known as Wang Yuqing (, born 9 September 1961) is a Singaporean actor. Education Wang studied at Willow Avenue Secondary School. Career Prior to his acting career, Wang served out his NS days in the Aerodrome fire service. He was offered a contract by the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) after completing the 3rd drama training course in 1982. Wang first acted in SBC's Army series before starring in SBC's earliest idol drama, '' The Flying Fish'', in 1983, which catapulted him to stardom. In 1988, Wang almost joined Hong Kong's TVB but decided against it, citing his poor grasp of Cantonese and reluctance to leave a stable environment. Li Wenhai (, born ) is a veteran Singaporean actor. He has acted in various Singaporean television dramas. Career In 1981, Li joined Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC). In August 1991, after filming ''Jealousy Potion 100'', Li applied to have an early termination to his acting contract with SBC and to transfer to the voice dubbing department. After eight months, in April 1992, he resigned from SBC. After leaving SBC, Li opened a shop with friends selling Buddhist equipment at Balestier Shopping Center. The shop was eventually closed down in 1988 after the shop lease had finished and business was poor. Li was then invited by the producer and writer of ''Riding the Storm'' to act in the drama. The channel broadcasts popular Malay television series, either originally produced by Mediacorp or imported from Malaysia and Indonesia. Cynthia Koh (born 25 March 1974), also known as Xu Mei Zhen 许美珍, is a Singaporean actress. She is best known for acting in many television dramas produced by MediaCorp Channel 8. Early life Koh has one younger sister. Her father works in the Singapore Civil Defence Force while her mother is a housewife. Koh received her education at Saint Anthony's Canossian Secondary School.
