''The Bridge'' is an American documentary television series chronicling the history of hip hop in New York City. The show airs weekly on WNYE in the New York City area. The show got its start in 2005 when NYC TV acquired broadcast station WNYE. The show was created and produced by Arick Wierson and Matthew Tollin. Directed by Trevor , ''The Bridge'' is hosted by Hot 97 DJ and hip hop legend Ralph McDaniels. The series quickly emerged as a cultural touchstone for NYC TV. Season one of ''The Bridge'' was co-hosted by Tiffani Webb, however she left the show due to renegotiation issues. Arick Wierson
Arick Wierson (born November 23, 1971) is an American columnist who writes on politics and business for CNN. He is also a regular contributor to several other major US publications including ''Vice'', ''The New York Observer'', '' Worth'', ''The New York Daily News'', and CNBC. He is a six-time Emmy Award-winning television producer. In 2010, Wierson won an Emmy award for the documentary film '' Back Door Channels: The Price of Peace'' featuring former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his work to bring peace between Israel and Egypt. Ralph McDaniels (born February 27, 1959) is an American music video director, DJ and VJ. He co-created and co-hosts the music video program ''Video Music Box'' with Lionel C. Martin. Biography McDaniels was born in Brooklyn, New York. His parents moved to Queens, New York when he was eleven. McDaniels studied communications at LaGuardia Community College. He later started the video production company Classic Concepts with Video Music Box producer Lionel Martin.
