Science Fiction On Television
Science fiction first appeared in television programming in the late 1930s, during what is called the Golden Age of Science Fiction. Special effects and other production techniques allow creators to present a living visual image of an imaginary world not limited by the constraints of reality. Story creation and scientific accuracy Science fiction tries to blend fiction and reality seamlessly so that the viewer can be immersed in the imaginative world. This includes characters, settings, and tools. Viewers often critique the scientific plausibility and accuracy of technology and technological concepts. John Hurt
Sir John Vincent Hurt (22 January 1940 – 25 January 2017) was an English actor whose career spanned over five decades. Hurt was regarded as one of Britain's finest actors. Director David Lynch described him as "simply the greatest actor in the world". He possessed what was described as the "most distinctive voice in Britain". Ian Chesterton
Ian Chesterton is a fictional character in the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'' and a companion of the First Doctor. He was played in the series by William Russell, and was one of the members of the programme's first regular cast, appearing in the bulk of the first two seasons from 1963 to 1965. In a film adaptation of one of the serials, '' Dr. Who and the Daleks'' (1965), he was played by Roy Castle, but with a very different personality and backstory. Susan Foreman
Susan Foreman (also known as Susan Campbell in spin-off media) is a fictional character in the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. The granddaughter and original companion of the First Doctor, she was played by actress Carole Ann Ford from 1963 to 1964, in the show's first season and the first two stories of the second season. Ford reprised the role for the feature-length 20th anniversary episode ''The Five Doctors'' (1983) and the 30th anniversary charity special ''Dimensions in Time'' (1993). Sacha Dhawan (; born 1 May 1984) is a British actor from Greater Manchester. The Master (Doctor Who)
The Master, is a recurring character in the British science fiction television series '' Doctor Who'' and its associated spin-off works. He is a renegade alien Time Lord and the childhood friend and later archenemy of the title character, the Doctor. He is most recently portrayed by Sacha Dhawan. Multiple actors have played the Master since the character's introduction in 1971. Within the show's narrative, the change in actors and subsequent change of the character's appearance is sometimes explained as the Master taking possession of other characters' bodies or as a consequence of regeneration, which is a biological attribute that allows Time Lords to survive fatal injuries or old age. Fugitive Doctor
The Fugitive Doctor is an incarnation of the Doctor, the protagonist of the BBC science fiction television programme ''Doctor Who''.
