Taco John's Events Center
Cheyenne Ice and Events Center, formerly known as Taco John's Events Center and Ikon Center, is a 2,000-seat multipurpose venue. Located in Cheyenne, Wyoming, it opened in August 2000. The Ice and Events Center is home to the Cheyenne Capitals youth hockey organization. The center is also capable of accommodating concerts, trade shows, parties, art shows, conventions, forums, and many other types of events. The Cheyenne Ice and Events Center is capable of seating 2,000 people for special events and 600 people in sporting event configurations. It was also the home of the Cheyenne Warriors of the American Professional Football League and the Cheyenne Stampede of the Western States Hockey League. Cheyenne Stampede
The Cheyenne Stampede were a United Hockey Union-sanctioned junior ice hockey team in the Western States Hockey League (WSHL). The Stampede played their home games at the Cheyenne Ice and Events Center. The team announced it would not participate in the 2019–20 season due to a lease dispute. Western States Hockey League
The Western States Hockey League (WSHL) was a junior ice hockey league established in 1993. It was sanctioned by the United Hockey Union, the junior hockey branch of the Amateur Athletic Union. Previously, it was sanctioned by USA Hockey from 1994 to 2011. Teams played approximately 50 games in the regular season schedule, mimicking what players would experience at the collegiate level. As of January 2022, there are no active teams in the league following the creation of the Can-Am Junior Hockey League by former WSHL teams. Cheyenne Warriors
The Cheyenne Warriors were a professional indoor football team which was most recently a member of the Developmental Indoor Football League. Based in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the Warriors played their home games at the Cheyenne Ice and Events Center. The team had been a member of the Indoor Football League with intent to play in the 2013 IFL season until the principal owner's death forced them to withdraw from the IFL. History For their inaugural season, the Warriors played in the American Professional Football League, finishing at the bottom of the league standings at 0-8. Beginning in 2013, the Warriors were scheduled to play in the Indoor Football League. American Professional Football League
The American Professional Football League (APFL) was an indoor football league that was founded in 2003. After the 2012 season, most of the teams left to start the Champions Professional Indoor Football League. The league consisted of professional and semi-professional teams, with a few core teams that played a full 10 game schedule and other teams that played partial schedules. At the end of each season, the playoffs were contested between the league's core teams.
