''Virgin Media News at 5.30'' is the flagship evening news programme on the Irish television network Virgin Media One (formerly known as "TV3"). It is produced by the Virgin Media News division. Presented by main news anchor Colette Fitzpatrick, the thirty-minute news programme covers Irish national and international news stories daily. History When TV3 launched on 20 September 1998, its early evening news programme was called ''TV3 News @ 6''. Colette Fitzpatrick
Colette Fitzpatrick (born June 1974) is one of the main news anchors at Virgin Media News (formerly known as "TV3 News"), since September 2006. She is a native of Holycross, Thurles, County Tipperary.("Colette, 31, from Thurles, Co Tipperary") Fitzpatrick is a Virgin Media News anchor. She presents the weekday bulletins: ''News at 12.30'' and '' News at 5.30''. She has also hosted the prime time current affairs show ''Midweek''. Fitzpatrick began working in the TV3 newsroom in March 2001. Brian Daly
Brian Daly is an Irish news journalist who previously worked for TV3 News. He spent also worked as Ireland Correspondent for Sky News in Dublin. Daly was one of the Sky News Ireland's two anchors for its twice-weeknightly programmes alongside colleague Ray Kennedy, following the departure of previous Sky News Ireland anchor Gráinne Seoige. Daly joined Sky News from Irish channel TV3, where he had worked since the channel's launch in 1998 and anchored the breakfast show Ireland AM. Prior to presenting on TV3, he worked on different radio stations within the Republic of Ireland. He rejoined TV3 in 2008 after four years with Sky.
